There was once a great beast that roamed the desert. The beast became known as a dragon. It's golden
scales were a majestic sight to see. The dragon would not show itself to any except those who truly
needed it's help, and were on the verge of death. Those who were saved by the dragon told stories of it to
all who would listen. Soon, the Desert Dragon Legend came to be.
Because of the legend, people from far and wide came to the Goldoan Desert in search of the great
dragon. None could find any trace of the majestic creature of the desert sands. Five-hundred years
passed, and people stopped trying to find the dragon. No one had needed his help, so it had not shown
itself.
Another five-hundred years came to pass, and a lonely merchant had wandered into the Goldoan Desert.
He had become lost, and was wandering the sands in hope of finding water or food, which he had run out
of. Or better yet, a way out of the 'accursed' desert. The merchant had only the objects which he was to
find a buyer of, his clothes and a family heirloom.
In what he had seen as his last day of life, he lay on the sands. He had convinced himself that he had led a
splendid life, and was ready to pass on. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something sparkle. He turned
his head in the direction of the gleam, and saw something golden in the distance. He waited for a few
minutes, in which time the golden object had not moved, then got back to his feet. He had little energy,
but his curiosity had been peeked. Slowly, he made his way toward that golden light in the sands.
As he neared what held his curiosity, he began to slow. The object that had his interest was taking shape,
the blur fading from his vision. What he beheld was a golden dragon. It was a beautiful sight. Miraculous.
He had heard the tales of a great golden dragon living in that very desert, but he thought that the legend
was just that, a legend. Now, he wasn't sure if it was a legend, or if what he was seeing truly was that
dragon of the Desert Dragon Legend.
The dragon lifted its great head and peered in the merchants direction. The man was in total awe. As they
gazed at each other, the mans legs had started to give way. A moment before he had fallen to the desert
sands, the great dragon had caught him with his wing. Slowly, the dragon helped the merchant to its side.
He was slightly confused, but then he understood that the dragon was trying to help him. It was telling
him, without words, to get on its back. In moments, he complied. Seconds later, they were soaring
through the air, passing by the very few clouds that adorned the sky.
Once they had flown close enough to a town, the dragon landed, and let the merchant off of its back. As
thanks, the merchant had decided to give his family heirloom to the dragon that had decided to save his
life. The heirloom was a necklace which had a small falcon carrying a crimson jewel in its talons on it. He
put the necklace in the dragons claws, smiled with what strength he had, and began his walk into town.
What the merchant didn't know, was the fact that his family heirloom held magic within it. The great
dragon gazed into the jewel, and the magic stirred. The golden dragon was no more. In its place were two
new dragons, one dark, and one light. The good and evil within the great dragon tore him in too, leaving
the two new dragons in its place.
Thus were the Void and Celestial dragons created.
