He does speak a bit differently but all commentary and poetry will be his own. If I am posting, we will clarify.

I do help him with editing, but that is the only part I have in his work.

Hello there. This section of the forums has not been active in... A very long time. I do hope that any viewers enjoy my work, should they stumble across this. I write poetry purely for my own enjoyment, it being a recently discovered hobby of mine.

If you have seen any of this work on Tumblr, I just wish to clarify that that is where I began posting it. We all left the platform for various personal reasons but I still wish to share my work with whoever will look, I suppose.

I mainly write about ecology, conservation, and animals but there are other themes as well. I will post whenever I feel like it, that may be every day or two but I am not sure. I might also include commentary at times.

Please do not repost anything, thank you. Feel free to comment or ask me things, though I do not wish to receive critique, apologies.

I do hope you enjoy.

This was inspired by a piece of artwork on Tumblr, that also had me learn what a coelacanth is at all. I am utterly fascinated by them. It was also very well received by readers.

What have you seen, little fish?

Did the world end for you,
And begin in the morning, anew?
Has the world changed for you,
Through your different, ancient view?

Where have you been, little fish?

The darkest waves and sun that glows?
Around the world and deep below?
Has the world changed for you,
In an endless, violent slew?

What have you heard, little fish?

The rumbling beasts and roaring Earth,
The rise of man and our own birth?
Has the world changed for you,
By our hands and ruling few?

What do you fear, little fish?

That you couldn't fight?
That you cannot change?
That you didn't know?

... That we should've stopped?

your destiny not ordained
stand up, brave warrior
brush the dust from your shoulders
and keep fighting

And here is another, that is a fair bit older but of a similar theme.

biting, clawing, slashing
not because i don’t know
how to die quietly
but because this time?
oh this time,
i refuse to

I really like both of these, especially the second one. I'm one of those who prefer rhyming rather than freeform poetry, but these are good.

I liked "coelacanth" also, I'm just not a big "humans are the enemy" type.

Thank you kindly. I consider that to be very high praise, since you prefer rhyming.

I actually do have quite the variety, I have written short freeforms, longer poems that rhyme, and haikus. I mostly write whatever comes to my mind, in all honesty.

I truly appreciate the response.

I completely understand, though I am far from believing humans are the enemy, myself, though I can understand how it could be seen like that. I suppose that one can be open to any interpretation, though yours is one I appreciate regardless.

Here is a more cheerful poem to do with ecology. It was initially inspired by the beryl-spangled tanager, a bird I wholeheartedly suggest looking up to see how beautiful it is.

descriptors - i

red-eyed trees and black-backed fur
spotted kings and king slayers

sword-billed and swallow-tailed
beryl-spangled and bespectacled

flightless divers and geographical cones
box-like bells and devourers of bones

fang-toothed gills and lizard beards
great feathers of blue and bombardiers

paradise birds and ambushes that snap
fish that bask and eight legs that trap

moths of the moon and dragons of green
fires that fly and living plants, unseen

bunnies at sea and men of war
serpents from the depths and fish that soar

i just don't think i could ever love you all more

i'd like to be an insect
to just wake up one day
and see the vast, wide world
in a completely different way

the parking lot pavement
would become a sea of gray
i'd shelter under mushrooms
as it starts to rain

i'd scuttle high on branches
and burrow deep in earth
i'd see colours unknown
but give people a wide berth

the pebbles on the porch
would be like mountain peaks
the grass on the front lawn
would be like redwood trees

i'd like to be an insect
perhaps just for a day
i'd like to shed my worries
and put my thoughts away
