Please correct me if I'm wrong, but does 300g mean 300 gold or shards? I'm still fairly new here

Gold. Shards aren't tradeable.

Why are the bred ones 50k but the first generation ones 300g?

Because the 1st gen bronze/silver/gold come from black market parents and the others from doni parents.
