That's pretty neat! And apparently they shapeshift, maybe they're like Mohrior and will have different shapes at different times of the day. Part of me kinda wished that they would just be big weird comets like the hatchling seemed to be but this has so much coolness potential.Jrap17 wrote:

When fully grown, flaming comets are awe-inspiring fiery shapeshifters. They will often take on the form of other creatures and as they are more than a little vain, they especially enjoy showing off their skills to any large crowd. During summer and fall festivals it is common to see groups of flaming comets dancing in the air above the tents, gleefully screeching at small children who are particularly fond of the pretty designs the flaming comets draw in the night sky. Parents and those in charge of fire safety are less fond of flaming comets, and it's not unusual to see a magi and their comet creature being told off for being careless of the dangers of dry brush and sparks. Flaming comets must be trained lest they accidentally burn and scorch everything around them, but this should be done carefully. A badly trained flaming comet will find itself confined to a fireplace where it may sulk among the logs until it learns to be more careful of its surroundings.

I need to hoard these- I wonder if they shape shift if they can 'freeze' forms when named like a Mohrior.

So...wait. How do these "hatch?" The jar says not to open it. Do these hatch when magi ignore the warning and open the jar anyway?
Or maybe opening the jar would harm the egg somehow, so it has to be kept closed until the egg hatches.

One day you're peacefully studying psionic invocation spells or some garbage when the on the shelf above randomly goes boom. Congratulation, you hatched a fire. Enjoy your singed belongings, that boring spellbook shall trouble you no longer.jmilana wrote:So...wait. How do these "hatch?" The jar says not to open it. Throwing this here.
Also, since when has a “do not open” ever stopped anyone?

Re: Creature 1028 - Flaming Comet
Almost certainly yes. Freezing them is probably just putting a charm on the jar so you aren't tempted to open it. The time it takes to hatch is just the anticipation built up before you decide to open it.jmilana wrote:So...wait. How do these "hatch?" The jar says not to open it. That, and the time it takes to actually open the jar. I don't imagine the lids come off very easily, given you can't run them under hot water.
