They're dropping in less than a half hour... any guesses on what they'll be? New crystalwings to keep up with the Magiversary celebrations? Something else?

This egg has a scaly tail.
Only an hour after they're born, skywreaths fluff out their beautiful plumage and take to the skies. They begin their lives by drifting on air currents lower to the ground, enjoying warm thermals that buoy them above waving fields of grass. Their long, light bodies and enormous wings make flight easy, and they are loathe to return to the ground. Without a magi to call them back, they never would.
Skywreaths are gorgeous creatures, with long, trailing tails and beautiful wings adorned with sky-blue and white feathers. The feathers help them to blend in to the skies as they soar. Skywreaths that belong to magi prefer to hover far above the Keep, so high that some say they float even above the clouds. Back during the days of the mage wars, they were used as lookouts, able to hover far above battlefields or forts out of sight to gather intelligence on the enemy or alert their magi to any danger. Now, they merely hover around the keep, keeping the skies clear of dust and pollen. Student magi who don't know the species will sometimes mistakenly assume people are flying kites all around the keep when they spot skywreaths flying low to eat floating pollen in spring.
Skywreaths spend all of their lives in the sky, buoyed by air currents and their own expert knowledge of flight. While those who bond with magi are content to stay in one place, wild skywreaths are migratory. The reason for this is their diet - skywreaths consume dust particles and pollen from the air, and thus they always like to be where spring has sprung. Magi can grow flowers or create dust for their skywreaths, as the creatures don't require much. They never eat enough to prevent the growth of new plant life. But in areas where Skywreaths are common, the skies smell and feel cleaner and more pure. Those who have ill-health sometimes move to areas where skywreaths are common. Skywreaths will also travel over cities, clearing up the smoke created from lanterns in town squares, and groups of skywreaths will also clear the air of ash after a wildfire in a forest or grassland. In some places, skywreaths are heralds of spring, and in others, they are a sign of hope after disaster.

Re: May Midmonth Donis
I don't know if it'll be a new crystalwing cause I feel like those are more likely to be 3 and 5 shard donis. And the May 3 and 5 shards didn't have anything to do with the Magiversary celebrations so I think it's unlikely that the midmonth will be related. I'm kinda hoping for something green and floral for spring

First post updated; thanks Ardroth!
These sound interesting... I'm picturing something snake-like or serpentine, like the quetzalcoatls. Maybe that's just cause I want more snake-like critters.

I might have to donate a little more and get a few more... I'm loving the hatchling. I wonder how awesome the adults are gonna look.

I have to say...I hate the egg. It looks like there's a single spider leg coming out of it? I don't know, it's just gross to me. The hatchling is cute though. Can't wait for the adult.

I can't unsee it. But yeah, it seems like the egg doesn't do it justice. The hatchling sprite is so cute and bright.jmilana wrote:I have to say...I hate the egg.
