The Torc Tuinne (Fia Puca x Cehual Boar)

Cehual boars can ascend to another plane, the fia puca straddles the world between the living and the dead. From a union of them both, the Torc Tuinne came into being. Taking on the link to the moon that its spirit deer parent had, the Torc Tuinne nevertheless has the appearance of a large, if more graceful boar. Half of its head is that of a normal boar, the other half its exposed skull. It has three sets of tusks, along with small, deer-like antlers made of bone. Its fur is wild and ragged, and turns into smokey wisps at the end, as if a fire has just been extinguished. The Torc Tuinne is only a union of the boar and the fia puca, perhaps the spirit deer's ability to feed on souls that results in this strange hybrid, that the shika mizu and maza iteiri apparently can't create.

Egg: A black egg with multiple white tusks growing from it.

Hatchling: Torc Tuinne are quiet and shy during the day, browsing among grasses and berries if they aren't sleeping. They become more active and ill-tempered at night, shunning others. Although they don't inherit the soul-stealing abilities of tthe fia puca, Torc Tuinne nevertheless seem drawn to the dead, and can be useful in hunting expeditions if an injured prey has fled. They can hunt small lizards and insects, but also have no problem scavenging from long dead kills.

Adult: With a combination of both abilities, the Torc Tuinne can sidestep into another plane, and phase through objects, but only while the moon is high. During the day they remain corporeal, but prefer to stay out of sunlight, as if it makes them uncomfortable, and become easy-going and docile. However if forced to remain in direct sunlight, the Torc Tuinne becomes tired and irritable, and will not hesitate to attack whatever is forcing it to remain there.

Like the Cehual, Torc Tuinne can be used as swift messengers, preferably for urgent news sent at midnight. There are superstitions that sending a message with a Torc Tuinne will only bring bad luck for the bearer, however there are additional uses for the unusual hybrid, such as in battle. The closer one is to dusk, the more aggressive the creature becomes, and like the Cehual, the Torc Tuinne can fall into frenzy, and its additional size, tusks and horns make it a painful enemy.
