'Gift Born' was different. Basically, alongside getting the gifting badge, when you gifted a certain number of people(I think like, 10) you got a 'gift born' creature but didn't get to see it till you opened your gifts,and you only got one. Which cause a lot of drama.
With the gift bags everyone has a chance at getting them. Well multiple chances really since you can buy as many bags as you want so long as you have gold.

But the thing is we don't know if it will be in a giftbag or not. There are plenty of old event creatures that haven't been in giftbags.

Also, giftbags are gold sinks so that causes drama because still not everyone can get them. You need roughly 300,000g to get a good chance at a wikken cat from the gift bags because there's such a low chance of getting them.

It took you 10 bags?
Tyriagris and I have been wikken-hunting. It took her 1.2 mil to get four and it took me 300k to get one.

I like that people get a chance of getting breeding pairs, but I can't help but think this takes the magic off GB's (and rare pets in general).

I don't get why people complained about them. It wasn't hard at all to obtain them.
