adults! The aresian one reminds me of a greek helmet; both are absolutely stunning! <3
Probably intentional tbh. Hellenic is another word for Greek, and often used in reference to ancient Greece.
I suspect the name 'Aresian' comes from Ares, the Greek god of war (esp since the description talks about them being symbols of war)
I don't know about the Eleuthyian ones tho and what they're referencing.
Can confirm that Aresian is for Ares. Had him in mind when I wrote the description. I'm a Huge fan of Greek mythology. Random thing, in my 'too-much-work-no-free-time' mind I somehow got stuck with the idea that the Aresian was supposed to be Roman-designed, so I first named it Marsian, since Mars is more or less the equivalent to Ares. Was so glad when Kestrad pointed out there's nothing Roman involved. <3

I actually had to go back and check whether Mysfytt said she'd referenced Greek or Roman horses in her design because I'd gotten confused too

Eleuthyian is a reference to Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth and midwifery, though I mashed up two different spellings of her name (Eleuthia and Eileithyia). vividmirage was pretty close in their guess of Eleutheria/Artemis, because Eileithyia was closely associated with Artemis, and it looks like the two names may have the same root! It wasn't fully intentional, but after the fact I thought it was neat that it worked out the two namesake gods were full-blooded siblings despite representing opposing ideas.

OH so it was HER. After seeing the war connection for one I wondered if the other was opposite and was connected to peace or life somehow. I googled 'Eleuthyian greek' and it was like 'did you mean Eileithyia greek'. But silly me went 'goddess of childbirth? nah that's probably not it'

Just to clarify, Real wrote the Aresian descriptions, I wrote the Eleuthyian, but the first page doesn't credit Real right now.
