Re: Koi Pond Statistics?
Hm, since I stupidly stayed up until 5 reading last night, I decided to check the koi pond before going to sleep. It took me a lot less gold throwing than usual to get an egg--maybe 300g at most.
Kestrad has been eaten by life. She'll probably pop back in occasionally.

I've thrown a few thousand gold into the pond, and well... I never got an egg. I guess I'll have to collect the adults, hatchlings and eggs of each kind of fish someday, but I'll do it by Merchant District rather than waste gold and time in hope to get a Koi!

I dunno how much I've thrown in there, but I've only ever gotten two purples and one ruby koi.

And it is also random luck.
Because the timing etc have never worked for me. Almost all my pond koi have been bought, I have got only 3 of them from the pond.
I am always broke, so I never use the higher denominations.

Re: Koi Pond Statistics?
Usually I don't care special times and I just go to the Pond and then I come pack with an egg. It takes about 1500g on average. Today I tested Carthasis' time and got a dracon koi with 360g. On the other hand, yesterday I tried too (about the same time) and spend about 2,5k before getting Red Koi. Earlier I have noticed, that I got an egg easy at 16 - 19 UTC. (For example: Dragon koi: 120g.)
I use only the 15 gold toss. That makes things easy, because there is no reason to move mouse during clicking. It's just click, waiting, scrolling, another click and so on. (My friend, for example, watch movies during clicking. ) So I think, the best way to get an egg is relaxing - not being in hurry.

Re: Koi Pond Statistics?
I've decided to spend some of my gold reserves to conduct a... more thorough experiment with the pond while I'm on holiday. Though unfortunately I can't cover the whole day. I'll see if it turns up some statistically relevant data, though that'll take a while - a couple hundred catches. Good thing they sell pretty well I wish I knew how to do a graph with exel, I never learned how to work with it

Re: Koi Pond Statistics?
I seem to have the best of luck around 3AM EST and around 5PM EST.
Got 1 purple (froze it sorry little sushi), 2 ruby and 1 dragon for 5K just now. Monday I managed to get a ruby for 15g.
There seems to be some random factor here also, and of course the more that are fishing when you try to get some sushi the better odds seem involved. Or perhaps it's the other way around
EDIT to add.
@Carthasis creating graphs in Excel is not so bad if you use the wizzard. You should try and check out this page http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel ... 05505.aspx
(I cannot believe I'm actually linking to a microdoze site...it's the end of the world for sure )
