Anyone out there love the dragonriders of pern series By Anne McCaffrey? Do you prefer canon or mutation dragons if you do?

I love dragonriders of pern, and I prefer strictly mutations

What do you mean by Canon and Mutation??

Canon referring to: Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green, and if you are like me white included
the colors from the books

Mutation referring to any made up colors what some consider white dragons, but more than whites

the way i see it, if it comes from the mind of Anne McCaffrey or her son then it's canon.

I have read all of Anne's books. Not much of her son's. I enjoy Anne's better than Todd's.

I am mixed. Mutation colors I am stricted on... Altho well thought out, could be well played.

I am also in thing of multiple colros. I don't mind both. Depending how it's done.

I used to Role Play hers, as well.

Canon only which includes Ruth's white mutation that has certain set backs...like inability to produce offspring.

I've never encountered mutation colors (other than Ruth, obviously) so I can't really say, but I think anything that's well thought out could have a lot of potential. (I've never really gotten into roleplaying, so I've just read the books.) It's just the 'well thought out' part that people often miss.

D'oooh, I love that series.
As for mutated or canon dragons, I don't really mind them that much. If it's just a normal color like red, than sure. But when they go over the edge like, add purple, black, and blue to a single dragon, than not so much.

i completely agree with you. i mean i get it, people wanna shove every ounce of their personality and creativity into their characters, but sometimes it gets to the point where picturing said characters inflicts mental trauma
