Why do the click threads move at different paces?

Post by Yunyi »

Just something I've always wondered O.o The "Click the eggs of the person above you" thread always moves loads faster than the other two... you would think that them being all egg-clicking threads, they'd move the same pace... right? Is there any reason why that one thread moves faster? This has been bothering me for a long time, lol. And I really want to know why :omg:

A lot of people are dedicated to just one of them if they think it gives better results. Which, seems to be the 'click the person above you' thread lately.

Like Soleil just said, I think it comes down to popularity. More people post at the "click the eggs of the person above you" thread has more people posting there, so it moves faster. The other two don't have as many people posting there regularly, so they don't move as fast.

Click above you... you can basically spam it and get lots of clicks. (although it's polite to give other players a chance to get clicks too)
The Click My Eggs encourages just one or two posts per page because you're supposed to click everyone on the page, so there's little use in spamming it and taking up all the space that others could be posting in, and thus, clicking your eggs.
Egg Hatcher 2000 is the revamp of the old 80% and Above thread, so a lot of people still only use it for their highest % codes.
Hawke's IRL fiance, Lunaroki, suffered a massive stroke and died on Tuesday, March 31st, 2015.

Hawke needs to concentrate on other things, and is leaving MS permanently.

Thank you all for many fun years.

I dislike that revamp. At first I still used it for creatures above 80% but stopped since everyone else is treating it like a simple clicking thread making it no different from 'Click My Eggs'.

There's also the fact that the threads are run by how users post. It's not a machine.

Huh, I didn't know it was a re-vamp of the 80% & up one... I went looking for it after not being able to get on for a bit and it was just gone. And since the Egg Hatcher 2000 thread never really said anything (that I saw) about it being for the high % codes, I'm guilty of using it the same way as the other 2 threads

Either way, I post my eggs around in the click threads for a few mins and then come back later. Seems like I only get a few % each time, I mostly go in there for gold since I click anything I think I might not have clicked that day.

It's not. the 80% thread was difficult to moderate, because if a player posted less than 80% creatures, they'd be a totally different percentage by the time the mods got to it. So, it's just another click thread now.

I primarily use that one, since it seems to be the slowest. I like to click everyone on the page, because many other users do and it's kind of expected.

Also, the click the eggs above you thread encourages more posts. Because the suggestion is that only the user under you will click your eggs, and not everyone on the page as in the other two threads.

And kind of redundant, really, if one thinks about it.
