Arkene's territory is known for its unhospital habitats and its harsh climate, especially during winter. The lake nearby the city is covered by a thick layer of ice for moreless half of a year. During spring the ice on the lake and the snow most exposed to the sun melt allowing animals to reproduce, and Arkene's fishermen and hunters to take advantage from the uncovered lake and the mateseason. In fact a lot of fish upriver in order to lay in the lake and lot of animals, like deers, wolves, bears and other little mammals, come near the lake to reproduce and profit of the abundant resources and of the mild climate.
