Shame we're not getting giftborns or the Solstice Caravan, although the new critters are definitely cute.

I'm still holding out hope that we are getting the caravan, since the news posts says more stuff is to come.

My guess is if the Solstice shop does come, it'll be on the 21st, since that's Yule/Winter Solstice this year.

The 502 errors are going to drive me batty. And all my snap-linked tabs have piled up from trying to click the IFN. I fear eggs are going to hatch pretty slowly again, like with the Harvest event.

They stopped the giftborns a long while back. People fussing about them got out of hand, so they stopped. I don't know why they actually did, but have seen/heard that it was because of the complaining.

As far as the caravan goes... I'm hoping we have it as it's shown itself every year.

Guys, we might still get a "giftborn." The info post specifies that there won't be one tied to the gifting badge, but it doesn't say anything about whether or not staff will put a new release creature under everyone's tree. That's happened a few times. They did say there's more to come...

Also those sylphs are Wonderful job, spriters! But the sylphs have to be my favorite with those colors and details.

Is it just me or do the noelinos grow more quickly than the sylphs? I feel like it's only taking a few tweets to hatch the noelinos, but hatching a sylph is taking wayyyy more.... I can't tell if I'm just impatient or if there's a genuine discrepancy between their growth rates.

There could be a difference in growth rates. I've heard that's been the case in the past where one of the new event-released creatures hatches slower than the rest of the creatures. so you're probably not imagining things.
