So the May donis will be here in just under an hour.
Any thoughts/ideas/hopes on what we might get?

Iluntz Crystalwing
This grey-striped egg is cool to the touch and occasionally chirps gently.
Iluntz crystalwings only ever hatch in the twilight hours, when the sun has set but some light still remains in the sky. They're not particularly active hatchlings, preferring to cuddle up with fellow hatchlings, amenable other creatures, and any magi in the vicinity. Even newly hatched, they have excellent eyesight in all types of lighting, though particularly bright lights seem to make them somewhat uncomfortable. Like their eggs, they're cool to the touch but not uncomfortably so.
An adult iluntz crystalwing is large enough that a magi could sit on their back, but this isn't recommended; iluntz crystalwings have hollow bones and aren't capable of carrying much weight beyond their own. As adults, iluntz crystalwings are able to conjure up winds, which also help them to take flight and stay in the air for long periods. They're still quite affectionate as adults and will gladly cuddle up with their magi, especially to watch the stars come out.
Iluntz crystalwings are creatures of the darker hours, most active - for a given value of active - during dusk and twilight, and generally sleeping during the day. Magi living in climates where the nights are longer have found that iluntz crystalwings still like to sleep whenever possible, and they will grumble if woken up. Both their crystals and feathers are prized for decoration and use in spells, and they're usually happy to oblige if anyone needs a helping wind.
Avgi Crystalwing
This red-striped egg is warm to the touch and smells like summer grass.
Avgi crystalwings only ever hatch in the dawn hours, when the sun is just rising above the horizon. They're active from the moment they break free of their shells and require a magi with the energy to keep up with them. They prefer to sleep during the night and don't have very good night vision, but have excellent long-distance vision during the day. Like their eggs, they're warm to the touch but not uncomfortably so.
An adult avgi crystalwing is large enough that a magi could sit on their back, but this isn't recommended; avgi crystalwings have hollow bones and aren't capable of carrying much weight beyond their own. As adults, avgi crystalwings can conjure heat and fire, controlling its direction and temperature to do something as simple as lighting a candle, or as large as burning down an entire forest. Fortunately they're pleasant and usually docile, though it's always a good idea to keep an avgi crystalwing as busy as possible to tire it out.
Avgi crystalwings are creatures of the daytime, active from the moment the first light of the sun touches the sky in the morning. In fact, some magi think that they help convince the sun to rise. Magi living in climates where the days are longer have found that avgi crystalwings will happily take advantage of the extra light, whether their magi wants to sleep or not. Both their crystals and feathers are prized for decoration and use in spells, and they're usually happy to oblige if anyone needs something warmed up or burnt.

Re: May Donis
Honestly I love it when donis are just knockoffs of real-life creatures. My favorite doni is and probably always will be the thylacine.

Re: May Donis
Cheetahs would be cool, maybe light themed cheetahs since light is the fastest thing ever and cheetahs- you get it!
Or minipegasi, to mirror minicorns and unicorns but in reverse, with the miniature ones being the doni this time! Look how cute they could be!

Kestrad has been eaten by life. She'll probably pop back in occasionally.
