It's called the law of supply and demand. Obviously if prices have gone as high as they have, there's demand (that is to say, people are paying that much for them). The supply of the GB deer is limited, which makes them even more valuable. Some of that value is speculation: people believe if the creatures can breed, those breeds will be limited. This too impacts pricing, making them a more desirable and higher priced commodity.

It isn't greed, it's how a true capitalistic market works. If people won't pay the prices being asked for, they'll come down. As long as, however, people will pay those prices then that's the price which will be set. There's a cap --- the highest price the market will bear --- but as long as people pay the higher prices, it hasn't been hit yet.

I'm tired of all the complaining. Why not just admit that you want to have something valuable that you either don't have enough of or do not have and you want it without having to pay much/anything on your part?
