Both.
I like wolves because they are majestic, graceful and independant creatures.
I also like gryphons because they are a beautiful, breath-taking kind, and while they are mytholigcal, it makes them even more inspiring and interesting.

I like wolves better, but for a different reason than many of you are expecting. Aside from the fact that we humans owe a lot to them for creating the domestic dog, they are one of the most efficient killing machines on Earth, and the fact that they survived the Ice Age while the Smilodon and the Terror Bird didn't is pretty amazing.
I certainly don't think that wolves are angels and are completely harmless, and I really hate it when people go around posting about it, because they aren't. Wolf bites can exert over 1000 pounds of pressure. That is definitely not harmless. How do you think they survived the Ice Age? Sure, learning to hunt in packs was a big part of it, but without the potential to kill, everything else is useless.
It also sorta irks me that people would make a huge fuss about them mostly being vulnerable/endangered and such (excluding the Red Wolf, because, interestingly, people don't talk about them much) when there are other critically endangered species that they seem to completely ignore.

I generally like wolves, but the artwork for the wolves on this site looks funny. It's all sideways, like the looker has vertigo, which just isn't attractive. So, I say gryphons..
