I am an animal lover.
I wonder if I can help any animals survive
I hear a meow somewhere not too far away
I see a kitty walking up to me
I want to feed it
I am an animal lover
I pretend to not give hungry animals food
I feel very good that I love animals
I touch an elephant's leg
I worry that they will someday be extinct
I cry thinking about how mammoths are dead and how hunters hunt elephants ONLY for tusks
I am an animal lover
I understand that dreams do not always come true
I say to myself that I will grow the elephant population
I dream about growing the elephatnt population
I try getting ideas and tips to help out all the animals I find
I hope I will get to give each young animal a chance

I am a bird-obsessed person who takes too much joy from sketching.
I wonder if there is an end to infinity
I hear the wing beats of an osprey overhead.
I see the ghost of an archaeopteryx in my budgie's eyes.
I want to see a boiler chicken's feet
touch soil for the

first
time.

I feel unseeing eyes of millions, staring, waiting,
Listening.
I touch ancient feathers of a marabou stork specimen.
I worry that humans will prioritize land development over animal and plant conservation.
I cry when I see the bodies of Laysan albatross, lying in the sand, their bellies filled with bottle caps, plastic bags. Many are dead.
Some are not.
I am a bird-obsessed person who takes too much joy from sketching.
I understand the pain of loss.
I say to let things go, and acknowledge that life is never perfect.
I dream of a world where animals and people coexist happily.
I try to raise the public's awareness and knowledge of not-so-popular endangered animals.
I hope that the pigeon whose we freed from fishing wire will never be abused again by dogs and children.

I am the patient wolf
I wonder how long my prey thinks to escape.
I hear the ancient trees stirring above me.
I see the pitiful tracks the thrashing beast left behind/
I want to taste fresh iron blood on my tongue

I pretend he has a hope of escape
I feel the heartbeats beating, beating, beating to an end.
I touch The very veil of death.
I worry the blackness in me will part like the jaws of a wild fire, devouring all in it's path
I cry to the moon to lament the loss of my kin
