A caramel mokaia hatchling prefers to spend its days hanging beneath the large leaves of a tree in the gardens, cozy and warm as it snuggles with other mokaia hatchlings. The tiny, fuzzily feathered bat that emerged from your candy has quickly shown itself to be a picky eater. Vegetables are ignored entirely, fresh fruit may get a nibble or two, and as for chocolates, only the best will do for your hatchling. Each evening sees you coaxing your mokaia out of its leafy nest with a small treat, and your hatchling peeps excitedly as it decides if your offering meets its standards.
Caramel mokaia make their home in the Ixan jungle, where they are found living in and around cocoa groves. These groves are fiercely guarded, especially from the chocolate earwigs which would otherwise destroy the delicious cocoa beans. Caramel mokaia have an insatiable craving for sweets, particularly chocolates and will quickly catch and eat any earwigs that aren't fast enough to run away. The earwigs are not their favorite treats though as they seem especially fond of melted forms of chocolate, sipping cocoa from any unattended mug and piercing bonbons with their sharp little fangs to slurp up the liquid centers. This love of melted chocolate has lead to their being given the nickname 'lovebites' in reference to the sticky kiss marks they tend to leave on their owner's faces.
