Affectionate and curious, the guardian leos hatchlings stick to their magi's side from dusk till dawn. They insist on sitting on the magi's lap whenever and wherever. They accompany them on lectures and strolls and go as far as to sleep on their magi's bed. No matter how many times a leo is removed from the bed and told to sleep on its designed pile of blankets, come morning the leo will be cuddled up by its magi. As soon as the cub receives its orb, it will become somewhat less insistent by being around its magi all the time. Even so, the leo will still spend a great amount of time keeping a close eye on everything that goes around its beloved protected.
Guardian leos are small creatures about the size of a husky. In many ways, they act like dogs, devoted to the magis who adopt them. From a young age, the leos need to be included in a variety of activities that will strengthen the lifetime bond they have with their magi. If kept outdoors and away from human company, the leos will slowly isolate themselves and eventually lose their life purpose. Despite being mighty and fierce, the guardian leos can suffer from separation anxiety. If a leo is left behind for whatever reason, it has to be left in the company of trustworthy, familiar faces. Otherwise, the leo will relentlessly search for its magi, causing havoc until their return. Gifting the leos small, blue orbs is a tradition of great importance. A guardian leos' loyalty towards its magi can turn into an obsession easily. Therefore, they are encouraged to care for the orbs just as much. The oddness of their behavior aside, the leos are considered invaluable companions, as their loyalty can hardly be challenged.
