General
For those who suffer from nightmares, dreamcatchers can be invaluable companions. Along with their close cousins the daydreamers, dreamcatchers can often be found within hospitals and in the rooms of sick magi, helping them heal by replacing bad dreams with good ones. When recovered, many magi thank dreamcatchers with gifts of small beads, brightly coloured feathers, and even small polished stones.

This small black egg has little feathered wings and a tiny tail.
Hatchling
These serpentine hatchlings sleep all day, curled up with the dreamcatchers they start building for themselves almost as soon as they hatch. Magi who own these creatures should keep small feathers and beads available for the hatchlings to use or risk losing the feathers and beads from their own clothing or even other creatures. While not as powerful as the adults, dreamcatcher hatchlings are still able to bring their magi good dreams and help keep away nightmares. Many magi grow up with their dreamcatcher hatchlings; they're often given to children who suffer from nightmares, as they're friendly and easy to take care of, if a little shy.
Adult
Even as adults dreamcatchers are small and slender, but when fully grown they have enough power to bring sweet dreams to not only their own magi but everyone else nearby. Their catchers are also fully completed, but they continue to fuss over them, adding and removing decorations on a whim. During the day, dreamcatchers like to sleep on their magi's pillow but at night they'll roam around their magi's quarters and sit in the window to watch the night pass by. Dreamcatcher adults aren't outgoing but they are easy to tame and don't mind being used to help others, although they choose one person only to be their magi.
