Heartfire gryphons exude warmth and good feelings, especially of the romantic kind. Many magi see the presence of a heartfire gryphon as a great sign for current or hopeful relationships, and the gryphons themselves are happiest when around those in love. Their bodies are always warm to the touch, making them especially useful in the colder climes where they will happily snuggle with anyone who needs it. They adore weddings and other partnership ceremonies, and will often join the guests and even insert themselves into the procession, cooing and purring happily. Although they do occasionally make a mess - especially when it comes to cake and other sweet treats - their attendance at a wedding indicates the marriage will be longlasting, peaceful, and beloved.
Holding this egg in your hands is like holding a hot drink on a freezing day, and makes you think of someone you love.
Hatchling heartfire gryphons are clumsily endearing, with a tendency to stick their beak in where it isn't wanted - especially when magi are attempting to have private moments. Fortunately they're cute enough - and give off such a loving aura - that most magi forgive them. Hatchlings do best when raised in a group and as they grow older, magi are often treated to their first amusing attempts at mating dances. They love to play and will often approach anyone, even total strangers, to play-bow and invite that person to join in a game with them.
An adult heartfire gryphon gleams in the sunlight and spends a lot of its time grooming itself and other gryphons so they all look their best. Heartfire gryphons are free with their love; some mate for life and others maintain multiple relationships. This extends to magi as well, with gryphons who stay with one person or family, gryphons who wander wherever their mood takes them, and gryphons who split their time between a few households. Loving parents, heartfire gryphons raise their hatchlings until the hatchlings are old enough to venture out on their own, and even then the hatchlings frequently return for visits.
