Cehual boars run so swiftly that they have the ability to transcend into another plane of existence. When practicing this magical ability, they become shadowy and misty, difficult to see. While in this state, cehual boars are able to run through solid objects – like rocks, trees, and even buildings. These boars delight in running through anything they can, though, and only occasionally use their powers. The usual obstacles they encounter are rabbits and other woodland animals, which these boars are more than happy to run down. The carnage they create has become such an issue that it has become common for valaska minerals to be built into walls. This mineral, mined from the Caves of Nareau, holds a magical property that wild boars find impossible to move through. Though pricey, magi have embedded it within every wall of The Keep, to avoid any harmful events.
A pair of incredibly sharp tusks have pierced the shell of this egg.
While appearing quite sweet due to their small size, cehual boars are just as mean-tempered as the adults of the species. When not practicing butting you with growing tusks, these little ones are constantly harassing each other and any unfortunate animal nearby. Along with eating nuts, berries and roots, these hatchlings devour carrion, insects and reptiles as well.
Within a matter of months, the soft piglet you raised has grown into a large, definitely not-cuddly individual. Mainly kept around because their strength imbues their magi companion with additional nature magic, these wild boars really serve no other purpose. They would have been hunted into extinction by the common people centuries ago if they were not so fierce. These boars are so bad tempered that they have been effectively banned from The Keep, and enjoy roaming the woods. When magi have need of them, the two meet on common ground, far from human lands. Cehual boars are most useful in battles, when they go into a frenzy and attack anything nearby. They are also known to be one of the best messengers, their legendary speed relaying notes quickly.
