Great Butterfly Phoenix hatchlings are known to be quite energetic, wiggling around on a magi's hand in search of food or just because they can. These hatchlings seem to be only active at night though, their bright blue or red flames lighting the keep and forests up at night like tiny campfire lights. The display is beautiful, but any creature that comes to close and threatens them gets blinded. Hatchlings sleep during the day, finding a nicely sun lit spot to sleep. Even during the day, if a predator gets to close to them, the flames on the back of these creatures blaze to life and blind the attacker.

Adults are beautiful creatures to see. Their bright colors and flying pattern often coincide with a festival that might be nearing; though this has been proven mere speculation then anything. Adults eat small insects and plants, but they can also be seen eating nectar from flowers as well. Their energetic nature as hatchlings as stayed with them to adulthood. They've also kept their nocturnal habit, their more developed and brighter flames providing magi with light on nightly trips or evening walks. They have excellent night vision and using their magic, they can transfer this vision to their magi companion for an extended amount of time.

General Description
Although their name suggests a size that is rather large, Great Butterfly Phoenixes are in fact small creatures, growing no larger then the size of softball. Hatchlings are known to make their cocoons in any corner of the keep that they can reach, often times this results in magi's nearly walking on them or bumping their heads into them. While this may be at times, funny to see, it can also get rather annoying. Their energetic nature is often a welcome sight at festivals and holidays. During such times, you might be able to hear a small cheerful chirp or warble from these creatures. Although it is nothing compared to their Gamilara Phoenix cousins, it is still quite pleasant to hear. Great Butterfly Phoenixes are also social creatures, giving off a loud cry if left alone for to long. During mating seasons, large groups can be seen from miles away at night, giving off the glow of city. They also seem to chat up a storm during mating seasons, greatly annoying any magi who linger longer then they should. Great Butterfly Phoenixes are widely used on night travels because of their magical ability to pass their extraordinary night vision to their magi companion. They also serve has a guiding light to anyone who might be lost, providing them with a light to walk their way and perhaps a creature to talk to if a person gets lonely.

That is an amazing sprite!
I expected this to be another phoenix hybrid that is just Creature + wings, but this one actually looks and sounds pretty cool.
