Gifting has been mentioned in the post and someone else has mentioned it as well as how it will work. Me... I'm hoping and hopeful for something we've never had nor somewhat related to past pets. Even then, a lot are favoured by many.
Happy Winter Solstice!

Fire Yulline
Intricate fire patterns revolve around this egg.
Fire Yulline hatchlings + description
Spoiler
Female
Male
When not spending time with other hatchlings, the yullines play with their fire. They shape it into what appears to be imaginary creatures, moving the forms around in made-believe-like games for as long as their magical fire lasts. The hatchlings can be so engrossed in these games that they sometimes forget to eat, and it is no surprise to find a yulline hatchling fast asleep with small shapes made out of fire still dancing around it. They play around with their food as much as with their fire. If given a piece of meat, the yulline hatchlings will warm it up with their fire, push it around, fly it to different places, and even trade it for other pieces of meat with other hatchlings before finally eating. For creatures that grow up so fast, the yulline hatchlings require little food. They eat only as much as they consider necessary, playing with the rest of the meat they receive or leaving it for later meals.

Spoiler
Although sociable creatures, fire yullines spend plenty of time alone, perfecting intricate displays made with their fire. The shapes they make resemble the yullines' own form but are smaller in comparison. The yulline adults that live near the Keep sometimes shape their fire after other creatures, such as dragons and wyverns, but they show an unmistakable preference for sticking to the shapes they know best. Magi who train the adults have to bribe them with rare meat, or else the yullines are not as keen on putting up different displays other than the ones they are used to during the winter festivities. As their fire comes in more than one color, the yullines are taught to perform intricate flight patterns while their fire dances around them. Since the yullines have little interest in showing off their magic in pompous performances, those who train these creatures have more than two adults working together. However, no matter the number of yullines involved, the spectacles are always beautiful and elegant.
Spoiler
There are many creatures people associate with the winter festivities, and the fire yulline is one of them. These small creatures are feisty but friendly, always happy to be in the company of humans as long as meat treats are involved. As they have fascinating control over fire magic, which manifests from the day they hatch, the yullines need little training, although they are eager to learn new tricks every so often. Even if the yullines are able to scorch everything with their fire breath, they are more content in using it in a much more captivating way. When breathing fire, they shape it into elegant patterns, often making it dance and thus creating lovely displays. These performances are not what some might expect, as the yullines prefer to offer dainty shows rather than big and flashy demonstrations. When they fly, the fire twists and dances around them, and many focus on this skill to put up entertaining shows during the winter festivities. Their popularity grows with each passing year, and recently even magi at the Keep have taken to keeping fire yullines as companions.
Cyathia Wyvern
A small poinsettia decorates this egg.
Cyathia Wyvern hatchlings + description

To this day, dedicated magi visit the Everlight Crevasse when they know the cyathia wyverns lay their eggs, mainly to observe the hatchlings. While the adults spend many hours in the air, it takes the wyvern hatchlings many months to fly. Thus, they are stuck on the ground for the better part of a year. When they first took an interest in these creatures, the magi were mainly curious about the poinsettias growing on the hatchlings' backs. After weeks of observations, it became clear the plants were mainly there for decoration. While the plants do irritate the skin when touched, it is not deadly in any way. In the end, everyone agreed the poinsettias give the wyverns a cute and festive look. The next thing that baffled the magi was the hatchlings' ability to reflect light. The array of beautiful colors that come off the scales, as well as the wyverns' capability to turn their seethrough bodies invisible, had led to the conclusion that the wyvern hatchlings possess an incredible power over light magic. The magi attempted to take the hatchlings back to the Keep, but the wyvern hatchlings became ill as soon as they left the crevasse. It is inexplicable how the hatchlings cannot leave their native area, but as soon as they manage to take flight, they are spotted in different parts of the world in the night sky.

Spoiler
Strangely enough, the cyathia wyvern adults always make an appearance during the nights of winter festivities, no matter where these celebrations happen. Usually, when the wyverns arrive, all activities are forgotten, as no one wishes to miss the spectacle of cyathia wyverns flying through the air. The lights that reflect on their scales as they move give such beautiful and unique views that even the most talented painters cannot reproduce them. The wyvern adults take their time inspecting everything nearby, from trees to buildings, before heading to other places that might pique their interest. Although usually in the air, they sometimes come down to earth when their curiosity wins over caution. When this happens, they will approach those nearby eagerly, poking at things or chewing on fabrics. While it is hard to tell when they are in the air, most are surprised to notice the wyverns are smaller than originally thought. The tallest of them reach waist height, while the shortest barely reach one's knees. And while their translucent bodies give them a fragile look, their scales make them hardy creatures. They accept treats and pets alike, but those who approach them know better than to touch the poinsettia-like plants that grow on the wyverns' shoulders, as they might irritate the skin.
Spoiler
To find one of these beautiful creatures, one has to travel to the Everlight Crevasse, as they are endemic only to this region. With long bodies that sparkle in a mesmerizing array of colors, these types of wyverns are like no other. With power over both air and light, the cyathia wyverns are a strange sight to many eyes. Not only do they have a different shape from what most consider a standard wyvern, but their ability to turn invisible has many scratching their heads about what these wyverns are and aren't. The mysterious magic that affects the Everlight Crevasse might be the source of their powers over light since no other creature is able to reflect and refract the light as these wyverns do. As unnavigable as the crevasse is, the cyathia wyverns seem to know their way around better than any other creature. They fly gracefully, their powers over air allowing them to create wind eddies that help them cover long distances. To make these wyverns even stranger than they already are, they sometimes seem to appear on the coldest of winter nights all around the world, even if such a thing is technically impossible. They give the impression of auroras, moving silently in the air as they fly to unknown destinations. Magi have tried repeatedly to keep them as companions, but they cannot survive outside of the Everlight Crevasse, the wyverns becoming ill the longer they are away from their native lands.
Deiaurnox
This egg has three, long fluffy tails that shimmers with light.
Deiaurnox hatchling + description
No dimorphism
Light Deiaurnox hatchling/Dark Deiaurnox (No Dimorphism)
Spoiler
Hatchling deiaurnox spend their days playing to exhaustion, having a quick nap and a meal, then playing again. Though they enjoy being with other deiaurnox, hatchlings are just as capable of entertaining themselves - or at least one head entertaining the others. Even at a young age, deiaurnox seem to understand the concept of danger, though not always what exactly is dangerous. Magi shouldn't be surprised when their deiaurnox hatchling displays its lights at unexpected new things, like a coat fallen on the floor suddenly or the presence of a loud stranger. Fortunately hatchlings are quick to learn and can be easily reassured or redirected - especially if given something shiny to play with.
Spoiler
An adult deiaurnox can play an important role in cold climates. Light deiaurnox are often sent to stand guard at dangerous areas or will protect a wounded traveler until help can arrive, as their red markings clearly signal a problem. Dark deiaurnox are used more often in night searches that can cover large areas, their markings lighting the way. When not helping magi, deiaurnox adults often roam around their territory - whether that's a patch of land they've claimed in the wild, or their magi's property - inspecting anything interesting for food, entertainment, or decorations they can nab. A deiaurnox's den is usually full of tinsel used as bedding and nothing makes all three heads happier than throwing a bell back and forth to make it ring.
Spoiler
Playful deiaurnox are happiest during the winter months, when festivals span the world celebrating the end of the year and the coming of a new one. They especially enjoy all the decorations that magi put up, and will happily steal shiny baubles and glittering garlands to wrap around themselves. Though each of their three heads has its own personality, they work well in sync - much to the detriment of the Keep's winter ornamentation. Deiaurnox are so happy with their new toys, however, that few magi can muster any real anger at their antics. Beyond their love for decorations, deiaurnox are courageous companions often used to search for stranded travelers in snowy areas, as their coloured markings emanate light.
