that is not what i would call "mini"

(maybe mini compared to a normal kraken, but not to a magi,if it would fit in the hand of the magi, when it is adult, then yes, but maybe that would be a "micro Kraken???)

Haha, glad you caught that! While writing the description, I wrestled with the question of, how large is a mini version of something that is just. Incomprehensibly humongous? And at what point does a kraken become merely a magical squid?

So, because I'm a nerd, I looked some sizes up, and real life large colossal squids apparently are confirmed to be able to reach 1000 pounds, and might be able to reach 1500 pounds. Giant squid mantles have a recorded max length of 7.4 feet) but scientists speculate can reach 66 feet. Keep in mind this is not counting tentacles! (I use colossal weight and giant length because colossals apparently weigh more but giant can grow bigger? Unclear.) Magistream's Kraken description says they can grow to weigh "two tons or more," presumably dwarfing the giant squids we have irl.

Basically, what I'm saying is, these minikrakens are really small! I suspect in universe it might actually be up for debate whether they can be called krakens at all, since they don't hang out in the ocean much and aren't nearly as large.

Oh, wow thanks for the resreach explanation... i wonder if a normal magistream kraken would even notice these "mini" krakens.... but i guess for a magi it still is big enough,especially since this mini kraken seems very attached to their magi...

(i wonder if there are shrink / grow spells out there so that a magi can actually take their companions on travels in an aquarium / little cage / on the shoulder... imagine a magi gone on a 3 month (or longer) journey just to find their mini kraken sobbing because the magi was gone too long...

i love the colour change on them, reminds me of the very dangerous blue-ringed octopuses

(edit: i know, many kraken / octopus species can change colour, but that one was one where i first saw in a nature documentation and thought: oh how cute...just to have the narrator just after i thought that talk about how dangerous these little ones are, not so cute anymore, but still pretty)
