Agreed! It's also nice for those with holiday plans to be able to focus by knowing in advance.

Yes... https://magistream.com/3-site-news/0-ha ... #p23309046
No. It's still the same amount of days... 6. If it went until the 5th, then it would be longer. 27th to the 3rd or the 28th to the 4th is still 6 days.

Quest - Aderyn's Amagnae Farm (The Keep) - REPEATABLE
Spoiler
The nights already flaunt promises of the upcoming winter with bites of frost, even though you keep insisting it's still autumn. The Keep is bustling with people preparing for the grand harvest feast. You snatch a candied apple from a passing cart and make a mental note to return to that stall that seems to be selling absolutely delicious looking pies. Your fantasies about stuffing your face and spending the rest of the evening stationed in front of one of the Keep's many fireplaces get interrupted by a few murmured lines from a conversation.

"... outright unnerving!"
"I know! And the other one? I'm surprised everything hasn't been shred to pieces by now."
"Aderyn's for sure playing with forces that shouldn't be meddled with."
"For sure."

Intrigued by these whispers clearly indicating Aderyn, the Keep's resident amagnae breeder, is up to something quite interesting sounding you decide to go see for yourself.

Aderyn flashes a mischievous grin when you enter her enchanted shed at the very edge of the Keep grounds. She's quick to guess your visit's purpose and is eager to lead you to a pen surrounded by a net. Your curiosity getting the better of you you peek inside. There's nothing there.

Aderyn must've read you mind, or your long face and giggles a little.
"They'll be there eventually, you'll see," she says with a smile. "They'll be back."
Back from what you're afraid to ask, and while Adreyn is sure to guess what you're wondering she doesn't elaborate. Instead she takes you to another enclosure and this time there are amagnae. Their feathers seem incredibly sharp and shiny.

Aderyn takes a glance at the birds and turns back to you. "If you'd like one, bring me three wild, unnamed, unfrozen amagnae hatchlings."
Need: 3 amagnae hatchling (brow, olive or silver), must be in your Main tab. You will loose them.
Spoiler
You return to Aderyn, quite proud of yourself for having caught three wild amagnae hatchlings without much effort or fuss, or getting bitten.

Aderyn inspects the hatchlings quickly and nods approvingly. "Very fine specimens," she says and flashes one of her smiles at you.

Aderyn goes through one of the many doors leading out and returns shortly. She gives you a small pouch. Inside it is an egg.

"Here, take this. And if you manage to gather three more wild, unnamed and unfrozen amagnae hatchlings I'd be happy to add them to my breeding stock."
Reward 1 random egg:
Image Ethereal Amagnae

This egg looks as solid as any other, but your fingers pass through it whenever you try to pick it up.

General description:
Spoiler
Ethereal amagnaes are said to be the ghosts of all the birds sacrificed as meals during various festivities. Experts in the matter, though, say they are simply a different breed, able to cross the veil that separates our world from other dimensions. If you are to pay close attention to one of these creatures, you could believe that both theories are true. You can not tell for sure, but at certain moments you swear the ethereal amagnae that currently sits next to you resembles that one turkey you cooked three winters ago for your aunt's birthday party. It is uncanny, and you really feel the need to apologize to the amagnae. You would like to inspect the creature more, just to be sure, but the amagnae has vanished soundlessly. When corporeal, the ethereal amagnae does not appear ghostly at all. Its white plumage makes it look delicate, even elegant, and it is definitely real. The bird pecks at the few seeds left on your window sill, proving it is alive. But it stares at you with its dark eyes a little too long to be comfortable, as if seeing into your soul and the feeling of being haunted returns.
Image Reaper Amagnae

This egg has several viciously sharp spikes growing out of it.

General description:
Spoiler
Despite being covered with sharp feathers and even sharper spikes, reaper amagnae are received with a much warmer, albeit still grudging, welcome by farmers than their wild silver and brown cousins. This is partly because they are merely indifferent towards humans, rather than actively malicious. More importantly, they have the interesting ability to age crops to perfect harvest ripeness in an instant just by proximity, a power they take advantage of to always have tasty food to eat. Since they tend to appear in late fall, farmers generally don't begrudge having part of their remaining fields ransacked in exchange for the rest of their crops being made magically ready for harvest before winter sets in. However, the birds' sharp feathers, spiky appearance, and rumors that their aging powers can work on humans as well, give them a slightly ominous reputation, and mean that they are treated with a certain degree of fear. Once the harvest has been brought in, it is considered an omen of death if the birds stay on, and so most villages put offerings of fresh grain and meat on their outskirts afterwards in hopes of bribing the reaper amagnae to move on.

Female Ethereal hatchling
Image
Spoiler
Ethereal amagnae hatchlings are the cutest. Their round bodies are covered in perfectly white feathers, making them look like piles of fresh snow. They are quite cheerful, playing with anything and everything, squeaking and chirping at each other, having the best of times. All of this lasts only for the first few weeks. As soon as they start vanishing, they become more somber. They are less noisy and appear to be preoccupied with staring into space for indefinite amounts of time. Whenever the amagnaes disappear, they do so gradually. Their bodies become somewhat translucid until they are completely gone. Whenever they reappear, the process is reversed. The more they vanish, the less time it takes, until one day when they go from solid forms to nothingness in the blink of an eye. Whenever they come back from the other dimension they travel to, they look like they have not yet realized they returned to this world. This transition they go through is painless, and as they age, the ethereal amagnae hatchlings look more ghostly than real.

Male Reaper hatchling

Text:
Spoiler
Reaper amagnae hatchlings are cute, affectionate, and fortunately for the magi raising them, not yet covered in sharp spikes, though their hatchling down is uncomfortably pokey. This makes their demands for cuddles merely uncomfortable rather than actively painful. Magi should take care to train their hatchlings to express their affection in less physical ways, or suffer the consequences when their chick grows up. As hatchlings, reaper amagnae don't have much of their strange aura yet, and so any crops that happen to be in their proximity at most grow slightly faster. As such, they forage for themselves by hunting for bugs and small animals, and beg adults or their magi when they want tasty treats of perfectly ripened fruit and grains.
