Named after the magi who discovered them, adult Onapae fleas are considered by most a blessing rather than a pest. With incredible strong antivenom, a few dozens of these fleas are able to cure even the deadliest of venoms if allowed near the wound. They will ingest any and all toxins and release a substance intended to cure the disease in a matter of minutes. Although incredibly useful, the downside of having Onapae fleas as companions is the risk of being bitten if there are no toxins for them to feed on. Always hungry, the adult Onapae fleas will hop from one host to another, in search of a venom-induced disease needed to be healed. They are a common solution, especially when it comes to sick creatures that refuse any sort of medical treatment. However, they are to be removed as soon as the creature shows signs of recovery, otherwise, the fleas will hide within their host's fur. Those who specialize in toxin-based potions are advised to keep them in tightly screwed bottles; even so, Onapae flea adults are more often than not discovered floating inside vials after having feasted for weeks.

Nice sprite. Even as someone who enjoys anything insect-like, this one gives me the creeps. Guess fleas aren't part of that list for me But I'm glad we have another strange creature to add to the Bestiary.

I definitely don’t like fleas IRL- I’m allergic to the bites and don’t like that they torment pets. But I like that the IRL pest is being redeemed with good magic!

Also, THEY ARE FLOATING FLEAS IN JARS AFTER THEY ARE FATTENED UP FROM FEASTING? OMG!

This imagery terrifies me and at the same time makes me think it's icky cute maybe??? Like maybe if they're floating and do little backflips in the jar maybe?

I read the description as meaning that the fleas got into stored toxins and are found floating after having gorged themselves.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that noticed that, nor the only one finding it hilarious.

I'm sure the bug release influx is only temporary. Regardless, I'll enjoy it while I can. It's a pleasant break from the norm. Still have my hopes up for something pretty creepy for Halloween though :B
