I've been a member of MagiStream for years. The pets that inhabit the site are extraordinary, amazing and beautiful. I love them.

But negotiating the quests is frustrating, difficult and beyond me. I have tried and failed to join the Black market. I'm not even sure if I've properly joined the Herbalist shop as I don't have a badge. This latest quest has forced my hand to speak out. I have 2 Moss Snails. I can't get to 5 Moss Snails because there are none in the stream. Wouldn't it make sense to make the creatures needed for the quest available to members?

The name of too many creatures do not give a clue to what they are - animal, vegetable or mineral! I have no idea if I have a Razan Kalistavri. I don't even know where to begin to look in my account.

Please make a guide for Dummies. I'm not intellectual enough and obviously in need of it.

While i agree that it is a bit frustrating that most of the required creatures for this quest aren't found in any of the tributaries, which would make it much easier to get them, the Bestiary should help you see what you have/what the creature's egg looks like (and more importantly, where to find it). Plus, this quest doesn't consume the creatures which means you can borrow/rent them from another user

The CBN guild has a shop in Mercado where we help people do quests. It's free, no gold needed

When the quest needs hatchlings, we have hatchlings you can have. When the quest needs eggs, we have adults you can borrow to breed. Just like we have adults you can borrow for the quests that don't take the creatures.

While there’s a lot that is outdated about Magistream, that is what founds Magistream’s community culture! You NEVER have to collect and complete things on this website alone. The very fabric of the website is dependent on it, to where one couldn’t exist without the other.

The best places to look when you’re missing something you need is the merchant district, or helpful groups like CBN.

I feel your pain, and I used to not play Magistream very much because I was intimidated by the forum, but the people are the meat of this website for sure.

I was afraid that since you've been a member for so long, you'd put me in my place! I'm so glad you're checking out the Caught Being Nice guild. It's a really great one-stop shop instead of looking for people who offer borrowing on their profile.

Additionally, for more community goodness- check out Zocalo (merchant district) for giveaways! There's always at least three threads giving out free creatures to new and old users alike. They're all ran by wonderful people!

This is a walkthrough page I've been referring to, to help my sister who joined a little over a year ago. I'm not sure how updated it is, but its been helpful for me to guide her through wherever she gets lost on them. (especially since it's been so long since I've done them myself ) Maybe it will be of help to you as well, good luck!

Not so much now. Click-based hatchies don't do so well in todays social media world, which has incidentally caused much of the community to fade (although, too many aquatic doni creatures might have had some input imo).

These sorts of sites were designed around forums, but now you have twitter, fb, reddit, voip (discord). All that considered, magistream hasn't aged well.

While I do agree with you, I will say that Magistream being the way it was back in 2011 when I first joined has made me love it even more than I did then. I'm sure there could be ways to implement things that might help it stay relevant, but plenty of younger people and even people from the very beginning still used sites like this, as well as other sites like Chicken Smoothie and of course the very interactive game Neopets. The simple fact that these sites are all still up and running means there is enough of an active user base to make it all worth it.

Also, there are social media apps that still function similar to forums, like Amino, and I would be willing to bet that if word was spread more to users who engage in that style of website, they may love sites like this too.

Again, this is my personal opinion, but I greatly prefer the amazing users and moderators on this website compared to the constant dumpster fires that can be found on Twitter or Tumblr.
