Was there a participation thing?

Yes there was a fish breeding contest July 21at til August 6th.

I think they were asking if there was a reward for participating in the event. I don't believe there was!

Will prizes be claimable via the Competition Center?

No I don't think you'll get anything by just participating. But the first personal price was 5 Swallowtails which would've been easy to get even by the laziest person. If you just entered and done nothing, well... you get nothing.

Claiming personal prizes should become available latest on August 11th. ^.^

where do we go to claim? we've searched the front page, the competition centre, the news (including the previous news posts on the subject in case of new replies or edits), the competitions forum, the shops, this thread, our inventory, and the bottom of our keep page. are we missing it, or is there just a delay? (a delay is totally okay and understandable, btw! we just don't want to miss the prizes when they do become available - we worked very hard for the ones we reached!)

You can claim the prizes at any time, so there's no rush. You can claim the prizes even if you are at the full limit of some of the items. You will still get them.
