Wow, can't believe I had forgotten about the Thane banner.

Remember that mega crash that toke away about 3 days worth of work? So many parentless creatures made, so many people trying to remember what they had been doing in the data that was lost.
Happened again a few days or so later, losing a day work. Which let to the 3 complete saves a day of everything. Which caused the site to be unresponsive for about a minute each time. We even had a post with the times it would happen on it so no one would forget.

And the old world map. I think the map had been redone before I joined. This is map 3 if my memory serves me right. Something about the first map having silvia forest on the right side of alasre mountians in the first map. And the entire map being expanded for the third one.

Ohhhh man. That's a nostalgia bomb. All those OG creatures bobbing down the stream. The old banner with Thane, the old UI. I think I had a bit of a crush on him, back when I was a wee hormonal teenager.

The roleplay stage used to be so bustling back then, and it was like 80% wolf roleplays God, so many memories there. I'm sure that, looking back, I would cringe myself to death, but that was probably my first proper experience with forum roleplay and it's a hobby I still enjoy to this day.

Days? More like *months* of work was lost. If you're talking bout the big rapture crash that left the site down for almost a week.

I joined in 2015, so the site still looked as it does now. It's neat to see how things looked during the site's beginnings (happy 1st anniversary, magistream! ) Anyway, thanks for sharing!

i totally forgot about that whole discussion about the economy and inflations (was that 2012?). wowie. i also remember being really surprised that the economy had been pretty much stable after my five-ish year hiatus, in terms of shard prices and overall stream creature pricing, etc.

and nursery auctions!! i remember being so so stressed around the end time of the auction, especially when we had to increase the gold amount manually rather than just typing "bid." i always tried to be a good sport when i lost but i'm sure that 12-year-old me had some outbursts about that (and other things... lmao). good times.

Oh wow! In some ways the site looks completely different. I wasn't around back then, but it also seems like a lot of things have stayed the same.
Personally, I like the current banner because it shows off a bit of the magistream world. In fact, it would kind of be nice to have a rotation of a couple different banners that show off different views an adventurer might see as they go about with their creatures...
