Oh man, what a beaut. I'm heavily tempted.
Y'know, thinking about it, normally I hate microtransactions in things like mobile games, and some of us have probably given MS quite a bit of money over the years, yet somehow it doesn't feel exploitative to fork over 2-5$ for a pretty sprite every couple of months. I guess it helps knowing that the money is going into payments for artists and server upkeep, and not a company that's just churning out crappy games every few months.
Went a little off-topic, so apologies. Might make an interesting discussion on its own though.

@Fennec, I wholeheartedly agree. 2 bucks for a gorgeous sprite every month or so is really not that bad, and it's not like you can't make gold otherwise in huge amounts with enough time. As far as petsites and microtransactions go, this is one of the least 'offensive' sites.

Successful care of a hatchling, or successful creation and training of a tetragamen chimera, will result in an adult that is fiercely loyal and dedicated to performing whatever task the magi has trained it for. They must be given a task or they will become destructive, and once given a task, the chimera will not stop until it is completed. When used to hunt down dark magi, these creatures are relentless, and very few things can stand in their way. Care must be taken during travel that they do not cause harm to other wildlife, either with their fire breath or with the poison in their tails. However, the one weakness they have that their original dark magi designers overlooked is that they cannot swim. A magi with a chimera companion should have a backup measure if they need to do an underwater search. Some magi have begun considering mixing the tetragamen chimera with a sea-faring creature to make a truly unstoppable hunter.
Chimera are constructed from mingled magic, dark sorcerers looking to combine creatures in such a way as to gain more power. The apotheosis of these experiments, achieved during the time of the mage wars, was the tetragamen chimera, a seamless combination of a goat, lion, scorpion, and dragon. This creature was designed to be the perfect weapon. Their tails are poisonous, they can breath flame and fly, they can see in the dark, and can run incredibly quickly over any terrain. With the wars long over, they are no longer found in the wild, the magic of nature not enough to fuel the roiling magics that sustain them. Nowadays, being able to create one is said to be a mark of mastery for mages who specialize in research on magical biology, but creation of one requires dedication to training such a powerful creature.
Here's the description! ^~^
