Keep Organization

My keep is a mess and my house too so I'm not the best person to give advise.

That said, think the kid of game that you are playing or you prefer to play.

It's super typical sorting for "where they come from" like stream, shop, pond, quest, hybrid ... for regular collectors that works wonders, but I value special date creatures so I have a lot of release day critters and I try not to mix them. Taps type "When they come out" are useful for me. I have taps for the months of the year and I short creatures for the release month and when a year is pass just use the same tap again.

If you are a breeder you will want to have a tap system that allow you to breed easy. I have seen 4 or more family taps with a pair of each family on each tap, like a 2nd gen tap and a 3rd gen tap ... and all the lineage mix up instead of taps for a specific family that may get you into inbreeding. I have seen collection of females vs the males for breeding (hybrids) in separate taps.

And is always nice and easy post a tap when you are selling / trading critters. But maybe you can create and delete this type of tap as you need them and finish the trading if that is useful for you.

If you are not a organize person by nature I will recommend a "to be sorted" tap or more than one if you fell overwhelmed for all the mess. And don't worry you can always find where are your critters form the bestiary page. I love that feature

I had a similar dilemma about sorting my pets, now I sort them by release year.

I do the same as a lot of folks here. I have them separated by Stream, Event, Quests, Donation, etc. I also have my armies cleanly separated too, as well as my single family.

I got special tabs for my armies, Bred and Parentless ones of them
Then I got a Doni tab
1 tab where I hide everything I just hatched, 1 tab for my lowest % hatchlings
2 sale tabs (+ 2 hidden sale tabs)
A few SORT tabs that are a mess
1 for breeding pairs I wanna do stuff with during events but lets be honest it and all the other tabs are a mess
Also got a big 'other main tab' that has most of my 1 pair of each creature' stuff in it
And a couple other random tabs
Tab for eggs, eggs I just froze, eggs I'm keeping, eggs I'm sending to Belmos etc.
I really need to fix stuff, one day

I'm at a point where I've almost decided how I'm going to organize mine... It's mostly as 'where do they come from' or 'what event are they from' but the Stream tab is soooooo huge. Any suggestions on how to break it up?

Should I do it by creature number?
Or should I maybe do it by rarity?

You could cut it at 500? Mine's just big, I have nearly 700 creatures, but I don't have every stage or anything.

Tbh, anything over 100 creatures in a tab for me is too much. I don't collect every stage. I just like to have an adult male and female of each species.

But I scroll them so much for various reasons that lose track of where they all are when there's so many in one tab...
I suppose that could be user issue rather than organization issue lol

I mean, for the most part, mine are the type of animal: cat, dragon, horse & deer, etc. Stuff that *looks* sufficiently like that type gets in there. Those that are clear mixes of things get put into hybrids, like Elephant snails and such. But I do have Forest and Sea for ones that either don't have enough representatives to have a tab of their own or haven't had a tab created for them yet. Then there's Egypt that gets its own tab, regardless of the type of creature, just the style, because I adore Egyptian things.

Initially, all my tabs were groups of things (sea, forest, mountain, etc), but then those started getting too big, so they got broken up into the [Type] & [Closely Similar Type] like my horse & deer tab, but even those are getting too big and might end broken up into single-type tabs. Of course, then I'll have too many tabs.

Really, everyone does things so differently.
