I have a serious question about freezing, why do it?

Sometimes when I see frozen eggs in Magi's keeps it makes me sad to see that they will never ever hatch and never have life. So why do many freeze eggs? Is there some secret thing about it I have never known? Why freeze these dear creatures at all?

I seek answers to this puzzling conundrum.

Here are some (or a lot?) egg collectors, hatchie collectors... or collectors of special percentages. (Like eggs or hatchies at 100%.)

And some do that when they are hunting for special eggs. The unneeded frozen eggs are often sent to Master Belmos. He is the only one who can thaw them. He maybe sells some of the creatures later.

Because sometimes I want hatchlings to stay hatchlings, but curious people can't help themselves from clicking things they shouldn't.

A few days ago I realized that all my mohrior hatchies had grown up. I have accidentally set the tab to unprotect a while ago. (I suspect that happened during the site problems. The days, when you could not see which tab is protected and which is not.)
I have so many tabs. So it's a mystery to me who found and clicked those hatchies.

There is also a thing called Stream Cleaning. When you're looking for a specific egg.. for a quest, a collection, being paid to catch eggs, etc... but the stream isn't co-operating, you catch and freeze eggs so new eggs will appear.

Plus every egg you catch and view, earns you 5 gold.. if you have an Alicanto Heart from the Artificer's Shop. The Heart also lets you earn 5 gold every time you click someone else's egg. Without the Heart you only earn 1 gold for any creature (egg/hatchling/adult) that you click on.

Personally, I stream clean often looking for creatures I need/want, and catch/freeze Ashevor eggs @ 0% for my egg army.

You did forgot the date collectors. A creature with a specific b-day will be more value for some players even if is just a frozen egg.

And now, it is possible to release a bred egg right away, but before I just pile and pile up frozen Cervinus Deers, Direwolfs, Nandi Bears, Cukurbas, Wolpertingers, even Arkenian Goose looking for the alts

I collect frozen Stream eggs sometimes to send to Belmos, and Stream clean regularly; also they're just pixels, it's not like we're "denying them life".

Freezing is part of the game.

And of course I Stream Clean when I need to.

Some people collect sprites (egg, hatchlings, adults)
Some use frozen eggs as markers / dividers in their tabs, or use frozen eggs to give short messages to visitors like "dont click below" or name a frozen egg with a price listing or generation if they run a shop.

Also, usually during events, people will batch freeze even eggs and send them to the Nursery Team to get to Belmos (the only person who can unfreeze) when then makes them available for people later on. If you can't be on during an event you still get a change to get one later.
