Sunset Vishyrm
This warm egg reminds you of the red skies of sunset.
Hatchling
Spoiler
Vishyrm hatchlings are always looking to the skies, waiting until they're big enough to reach the clouds. In the wild, hatchlings are hidden on mountaintops and crags, impossible to reach without knowing exactly where they are; a process complicated even more by the fact that vishyrm parents never use the same nest twice. Magi who have raised sunset vishyrm hatchlings find that they greatly enjoy the heat of the sun and of fire, often sleeping stretched out in front of fireplaces or on sun-heated cobbles. They enjoy cuddling, but they also enjoy knocking things off high shelves, which they can reach by climbing up even the barest walls.
Adult
Spoiler
Vishyrms gain the ability to grant their wish once they've reached adult size, a process than can take ten or even twenty years. They spend the majority of their time floating among the clouds and, if not raised by a magi, only come down enough to be seen during winter sunsets and sunrises. Sunset vishyrms are always warm to the touch, but it's a comforting warmth and they seem to enjoy having children nap within the protection of their sinuous bodies. They are more likely to be energetic, especially in the later parts of the afternoon, and magi can entice them to play by throwing balls into the air that they can chase and bring back.
Spoiler
Vishyrms are almost creatures of legend, wild ones seen only in the winter months during the exact moments of sunset and sunrise. Magi who come across one, or are lucky enough to have a vishyrm choose them, are allowed to ask for a single wish within their lifetime. A sunset vishyrm will grant this wish within seven days, but magi should beware; sunset vishyrms are more mischievous than their sunrise cousins and though they never seek to harm, a sunset wish might not turn out quite as the magi hopes. Once a wish has been granted the vishyrm loses its magic, but they remain beautiful companions.
This egg has very soft scales and reminds you of the pale light of dawn.

Magi who have raised sunrise vishyrm hatchlings find that they greatly enjoy being draped around a magi's neck while the magi goes about their daily business. They also like to be talked to, and will respond with a variety of chirps, trills, and surprisingly deep purrs.

Sunrise vishyrms are always soft to the touch; running a hand along their fine scales is described as like touching a cloud. They are more reserved but are still curious enough to inspect interesting happenings within the keep, with a special love for storytime where they can float in the air and read over a teacher's or parent's shoulder.
