They're here! Worms! So excited to see what they look like. I wonder if they'll be more worm like as opposed to wyrm like?

1048 - Arkenian Ice Worm (3 Shard)

Image
This egg freezes anything that touches it.

Description:
Arkenian ice worms are found in and around the northern most seas. They normally are found in the deepest underwater caves, creating massive burrows where they lie in wait for unsuspecting prey. Though terrifying in appearance, Arkenian ice worms are in fact very friendly towards their chosen magi, and will happily wrap themselves around their magi for a cuddle. Water magi have reported great success in training ice worms to guard areas, and it is indeed the rare individual who can slip past an ice worm unnoticed. When visiting an ice worm's burrow, it is advised to be extremely careful where you place your feet lest you loose one.

Hatchlings:

Hatchling description:
Spoiler
The tank you prepared for your Arkenian ice worm seems to be empty. Puzzled, you cautiously dip your hand into the water before yanking it right back out, gasping at the cold. As you shake your hand, now numb from the cold, you see small ripples in the tank's substrate. A tiny head pops out and you watch in surprise as it seems to wave its antenna at you. The ice worm hatchling scoots through the substrate and right up to the glass, and yes, it is indeed waving at you. You wave back and laugh as your hatchling wiggles back into its burrow, apparently content to nap until you provide it with dinner.

Adult Description:
Spoiler
Many people are understandably terrified when they first meet an Arkenian ice worm. Their sharp teeth, enormous mandibles and deadly hunting skills make them easy to fear, yet when raised by a magi they are in fact among the most gregarious denizens of the sea. The members of the Society of the Trident who have spent time researching Arkenian ice worms report that the worms have elaborate rituals for greeting their magi, greeting other visiting magi, as well as visiting another worm's territory. While the rituals may vary a bit from ice worm to ice worm, they all seem to have an emphasis on the offering of food as a gift to the host ice worm. The researchers do state that wild Arkenian ice worms will not accept visitors who do not know the proper ritual and should therefore be avoided whenever possible, as when fully grown they are nearly thirty feet in length and can easily amputate any appendage.

1049 - Voltarian Reef Worm (5 Shard)

Image
This egg burns anything that touches it.

Description:
Voltarian reef worms are found in the seas south of Voltar . They normally are found in caves near underwater volcanoes, creating massive burrows where they lie in wait for unsuspecting prey. Though terrifying in appearance, Voltarian reef worms are in fact very friendly towards their chosen magi, and will happily wrap themselves around their magi for a cuddle. Water magi have reported great success in training reef worms to guard areas, and it is indeed the rare individual who can slip past a reef worm unnoticed. When visiting a reef worm's burrow, it is advised to be extremely careful where you place your feet lest you loose one.

Hatchlings:

Hatchling description:

The tank you prepared for your Voltarian reef worm seems to be empty. Puzzled, you cautiously dip your hand into the water before yanking it right back out, gasping at the scalding heat. As you shake your hand, now painfully red from the heat, you see small ripples in the tank's substrate. A tiny head pops out and you watch in surprise as it seems to wave its antenna at you. The reef worm hatchling scoots through the substrate and right up to the glass, and yes, it is indeed waving at you. Oh man, these little guys look like they're gonna be sand strikers. SUPER stoked to see the adults--I might have to use the bit of shards I've been saving for one of these.

The hatchling description is adorable! <3

I'm also getting some strong Mantis Shrimp vibes based on the hatchling sprites. I know they're not worms, but it would be neat to see the bullies of the ocean appear on the site (especially the peacock one because of all those colors  )
