Spoiler
There are several varieties of spicalx, all of them fairly rare and elusive. Colorful alius spicalx are the most mysterious of the group, shrouded in mystery and said by some to have originated in another world alongside our own. They are the only spicalx capable of magic, capable of growing and shrinking, changing the weight and texture of their stony bodies, heating themselves up, or making their skin icy cold to the touch. These abilities are limited to their own bodies, but a skilled alius spicalx can use these abilities effectively to navigate their environments or win a fight. They are said to be the most aggressive of the spicalx, but this claim gives the misconception that they are especially aggressive at all. Alius spicalx, like their relatives, would much rather ignore or avoid a confrontation if possible, but they are surprisingly quick to respond when legitimately threatened.

Spicalx are shy, docile creatures rarely seen by humans despite their size. Their tough hides are made of rock, allowing them to camouflage in many environments if they stand still. All spicalx are herbivores, feeding on soft plants that grow near their preferred habitat. They have slow metabolisms and need to eat little for creatures their size, and can go for long periods without food or water. They can carry up to three people comfortably and haul tremendous loads, though they're uncommon pack animals. Their rarity in the wild and their leisurely pace tends to make more common horses or oxen preferred for long-distance transport, but spicalx are occasionally seen helping their human companions in rural towns near the creatures' native habitats. Although gentle most of the time, if threatened, spicalx can run surprisingly fast and make good use of their sharp horns.

There are several varieties of spicalx, all of them fairly rare and elusive. Aevum spicalx are placid even by the standards set by these typically gentle species. They may spend years without moving, easily mistaken for statues. They may take centuries to hatch and grow, and live for far longer than that, though they can choose to grow faster if they wish. Because of their longevity, aevum spicalx tend to become very familiar with the forests they live near, and are seen by some as guardians of the trees. One of the aevum spicalx that lives in the Keep's gardens is though to have lived there since before the building was constructed. Though not especially magical themselves, the moss that grows on aevum spicalx has healing properties. They don't seem to gain anything from the moss, and will occasionally scratch against trees and boulders to rub it off. At the Keep, the aevum spicalx get a semi-annual cleaning, during which time the moss is collected and prepared for potions.

Interesting... they look sort of like Sinoceratops or what's that other relative that has only one horn on it's nose...? I forget what it's called... Styracosaurus maybe? Actually, looking at pictures of that one this critter looks more like the latter than the former. Either way it's obviously a ceratopsian dinosaur which is cool since most dino based creatures thus far have been based off of carnivores. There was at least that one doni that was based off a suaropod, of which I would love to see more since those dinos have always been my favorites but I digress.

I'll definitely be getting myself some of these. Are they permanent or limited time though?
