I guess they're actual Allies then. They're called 'Pet Geode Ally' so I guess they follow ally rules and can't be traded.

Honestly, Puvias, Avraels and Nightcrawlers aren't really expensive so you could probably buy some for cheap.

What I think is hilarious is the quest disappears if you haven't had a drink at Remy's. :lol:
