My mom's complaining because the (completely free, btw) magazines she's getting in the mail aren't filled end to end with white people (ie, a black woman on the cover and a few more inside). She says it doesn't align with her interests and isn't relatable to her as a white person, therefore she doesn't want the magazine anymore.

Like.

Are brown folks so extremely different that she can't enjoy the same things that they do? I'm lost. It's high key racism, and she doesn't see why that is. If she doesn't like the magazine, she shouldn't even open her mouth, just stop receiving it. ffs

The neighbor kiddy corner from me is blasting music from their yard. It's almost midnight where I am, and they just cranked it up to full volume a few minutes ago. Ugh! There are numerous houses that surround them. You'd think they'd have some common decency ffs! I don't mind if a party goes until 10pm or something; that's fair and reasonable on a Saturday night. But this is just getting ridiculous!

Last time it happened was maybe 2 months ago when they were having a party (yep you read that right) and it went until 4 fucking am. IDK why my mom didn't call the cops on them for an unlawful gathering during the pandemic. Probably because there are barely any restrictions in place right now.

Ugh. Job interview seemed to go well, but they're still doing interviews and said I should hear back within a few weeks. I really can't wait a few weeks...I can be ok without a job, but I'm going a little crazy being cooped up in the house and not having any money to spend. I'm just watching my bank account drop, especially since I just had to buy a new phone.

It's looking like I'm going to have to go back to Target. I should be able to work jobs that aren't as at risk, but it's going to be hard to track down the right supervisor to discuss things with. Hoping I can track one of them down today to discuss things with. The person who called me last week must have started working there while I was gone since I didn't recognize the name. She wouldn't have the same trust in me as my supervisors.

And I just really want to avoid phone calls and adulting.
