My heart breaks for the little family T_T
My neighbour's daughter passed away early this morning. She never came out of the coma. She leaves a 9 year old son who has lost both his parents now. He will be taken care of by my neighbor (the little boy's grandmother) and her unmarried son who is in his early 30s. I have no words T_T

My husband's grandfather (Pawpaw) has been on a ventilator since last week. He went into the hospital for some work on his pacemaker, ended up needing dialysis as well and was even on a feeding tube for a bit. They are supposed to be taking him off the ventilator today.

We don't have as many details of his progress last week because my mother-in-law, his daughter, was in a near head-on collision the Friday before and has been stuck at home due to five broken ribs and a broken ankle. She's lucky that the girl who hit her didn't kill her. The girl was too busy sending snapchats (confirmed in the police report) to pay attention to the US highway she was on (mother-in-law was at a stop sign waiting to cross).

They aren't expecting Pawpaw to live very long once he's off the ventilator. His wife, Mawmaw, hasn't been in the best health so it's expected that she won't live too long after Pawpaw passes. They are both 88 and have been married 68 years.

My husband is starting to have flashbacks to 2007 when he lost his Gramps (father's father) in January, Granny (father's mother) in March, and father in October.

@pegasai1978

That sounds very rough and gut wrenching for your family, I'm so very sorry. And omg at your MIL almost getting killed! How old was the girl, do you know? According to the law if she's a first time offender she might get a very small fine, but since she caused serious injury to your MIL, the girl will possibly get a $4,000 dollar fine or more and she might face jail time.

I hope your MIL recovers from this with the utmost care. I'll be sending healing vibes to your family. :t-hugs:

We've been told the young lady is about 20.

An update on Pawpaw, we found he's not been conscious since his surgery. He's in multiple organ failure and has been moved into the hospice ward.

He was always one of my favs.. bought the album Bat Out of Hell.. bought the cassette to replace that.. then the CD to replace that (still have it, and still listen to it regularly).
I am in the process of moving house, so I will not be around much for the foreseeable future.
