Everything you described is honestly what any logical person might do. I've been talking about this case a lot with my parents, and we all agreed that it would be strange if my brother came home without his girlfriend--whether he intentionally harmed her or it was an accident, we would all be looking at him suspiciously and asking him what happened. I also agree that most people wouldn't leave their SO stranded in the middle of nowhere. Even if you were fighting the whole roadtrip, at least tolerate each others' presence for a few more days until you can return home and blow off some steam alone.
I will mention though that I do have my doubts about the double homicide in Utah. I think it might be sheer coincidence that they were in the area when that couple was murdered. Right now, police don't believe they're connected. I feel that the circumstances surrounding that case are vastly different; it seems more like a hate crime. They also were able to find both of their bodies, and both were naked from the waist down, which can imply SA or even a form of humiliation against the women once they're found. I know that the guy's attorney said police should focus more on that homicide, but that was likely to get heat off of his client. (If you ask me though, I think it makes the fiancé look even MORE suspicious, like he's implying that Gabby was indeed murdered by someone--rather than her being missing/possibly alive/whatever happened was an accident/etc.
) And I don't think Brian is the creepy guy they mentioned, especially if one of the victims tagged him in an instagram post... Who really knows at this point? There's been so many twists and turns with this case, it's hard to keep up.Anyway, I feel you about true crime. I studied forensics in high school and watched a lot of shows like Forensic Files/America's Most Wanted/Dateline/etc growing up. Love the mystery and science of it all!
