Hubby was changed from his afternoon shift to a morning one and he was told to go to a new location for two days. He went and did his job, but since he's never been at this posting, he wasn't expecting to get sunburned at the job.VilaWolf wrote:Parts of Arizona are already hitting the 120sF.
Coachella valley is going to hit the 115-118 F range this week.
Death Valley -- just dont go there right now. They're expecting 120-125F.
Drink lots of water folks, like, if you're going hiking bring a red wheelbarrow with a gallon jug or two. For the love of your life stay on the trail. You know what? Dont go out unless you have to. UV exists, despite what KESQ says so wear a hat and sunglasses and spf 3000. No, the woven straw hats dont offer uv protection, just tiny pits of shade. Some salty trail snacks and jerkies are okay, but don't over do it with them or you'll actually get heat-sick a bit faster.
It's only just begun....
When he came home, he was burnt red all over his arms and half of the upper part of his face (thank god for the mask in a way). He was getting hot sun on him for 8 hrs straight from Miami Beach with no sunscreen on at all. I'm guessing it was probably 105-110 maybe more, I honestly don't know, but he was a tomato.
Now his skin is peeling and he also felt a bit of pain/sting from the whole thing, I bought him aloe cream and he's been using it and it's been helping a bit. The sunburn wasn't as serious as it could have been, but I got him sunscreen/aftersun lotions and all just in case.
