I often modify my statements with words of affirmation or of self doubt to give a graceful out if either I have misunderstood or if the other person in an exchange has to change the terms of it. Especially in written-only communication, the opportunity for miscommunication or tone disconnect is a danger. Aggressive politeness and emojis can help soften words into a more conversational tone. (Also sometimes I really do get things wrong and have to be corrected.)

I realize I do this hardcore at work, because I don't want to seem like I am demanding things or not being a team player, sometimes to my own detriment, because I can come across as not confident/competent. It can be such a double-edged sword!

And an edit to add that this may be something that doesn't translate across languages and cultures well. I've noticed that Spanish conversations are often more circuitous than ones in English, for example.

Currently though, I'm taking an academy course for lighting that's hosted by a much large company that's known for working on bigger films, like the live action Lion King, Godzilla, Pacific Rim, Detective Pikachu, etc. Hopefully I'll do well enough to get a position in their company ^.^
That's cool. How'd you get into it? Looking it up, it def takes a lot of training a skill, so degree at school?
I took a year-long course that taught my a bit of everything in the VFX/gaming field. Modeling, animation, rigging, texturing, compositing, lighting. Most people I work with went to school for it, but in all honesty, all you need is a good reel to get hired. I've got an associate's, but I guarantee they don't even look at that.

It's mostly just experience and training in different programs! It's definitely something you have to have a passion for. Getting to the level to work on bigger films/shows and doing hero shots (and therefore, more pay) requires you to do a lot of outside and unpaid research/practice for improvement.

Totally worth it though. I wake up every day excited for work. Every shot is different, I'm always problem solving, and while I sit in a chair for 8 hours a day, I hardly notice because of how invested I can become in it. Right now I'm waking up at 6AM and sleeping at midnight to make sure I've got ample time to pull my full-hour work shifts (and overtime, if needbe) and still allot enough time to look over lectures and complete classwork, but I don't feel burnt out or fatigued. It's a creative outlet for me, and creative outlets relieve my stress, so they kind of cancel out

Maybe it'll be different in the future, but for now I've been working for ~2ish years and I can't get enough of it.

Parts of Arizona are already hitting the 120sF.
Coachella valley is going to hit the 115-118 F range this week.
Death Valley -- just dont go there right now. They're expecting 120-125F.

Drink lots of water folks, like, if you're going hiking bring a red wheelbarrow with a gallon jug or two. For the love of your life stay on the trail. You know what? Dont go out unless you have to. UV exists, despite what KESQ says so wear a hat and sunglasses and spf 3000. No, the woven straw hats dont offer uv protection, just tiny pits of shade. Some salty trail snacks and jerkies are okay, but don't over do it with them or you'll actually get heat-sick a bit faster.

It's only just begun....

Oh, those are gorgeous!

Also, people who tell you to sell crafts generally are ones who have no appreciation for how much time and money it costs to make them, and also have no intention of actually buying said crafts themselves. Generally if anyone tells you that you should sell something you make, I've found the best response to be a deadpan "Okay. Cost of materials and my time comes out to [insert large number here]. Give me that and it's yours."

Today is my boyfriend's surprise birthday party. His birthday was on Wednesday and everyone acted like it was no big deal, sans wishing him a happy birthday. No presents were given as it was a weekday and we all planned to celebrate it on Sunday. So he's been a bit mopey the actual day wasn't super fun, but little does he know that a friend and I have lured him to their house under the pretense of mulching the garden. He definitely won't be expecting me, as I said I would be busy today and would only be available Sunday... I'm very excited!

so i haven't had a magistream-themed dream in a while, but i had one last night. there was a competition going on at the keep for halloween, and it was centered around who could tell the best scary story, i think. but instead of just submitting stories, the dream was set in the keep and everyone who entered had to set up an interactive exhibit through which they would tell their story. some people did music, like me, and some were more impressive than others. kestrad ended up having the scariest story, about some hellhounds in a forest that wasn't quite what it seemed. i got to the exhibition late so i didn't get good seats, but it was packed and people were shaking with fear at the rendition. i don't know what to make of this. :derp:

What's going on?
I'm breeding my trusted pairs to get the new Achievements filled, and of course I'm calling them trusted pairs because they can be trusted to give an egg.
EXCEPT TODAY!
None of them is interested. Really, NONE of them.
WHY? What did I do to deserve this?

On another note, our dogschool is thriving. Lots of puppies, and young ones hitting puberty.
Saturdays are very tiring, but also very fun and rewarding. <3
. <3 A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! <3 .

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Renting out all Achievement Packs, selling singles

I'm using Yarolds Link Exchange to hatch my eggs faster. It's free!

Breeding DONIS on request, 135k. Date request 150k.
Want? PM me!

That sounds like it's going to be an awesome surprise. I hope it goes well!

Got my hair dyed. Definitely the craziest I've gone with it - a strong pink towards the roots, melting into blue/purple with purple on the layers underneath. Also got a full 7 inches cut off, and still had so much hair that two people were working on it most of the time. The lady doing it had to go in the back to get more dye 4 different times. It makes me feel awful for going to the shops to get it done. But the result was fantastic!
