I did try that yesterday and the two of the major retail chains by me removed that option from their websites. Wowza.

Well things are changing in my state - Indiana...as of just a bit ago....so far statewide

7 deaths
68 new cases today :t-O_O:
1960 tested

Has been 2 confirmed cases in my county so far and the governor put the state on a stay at home order from Wednesday to April 7th.

Scares the hell out of me - no way to order groceries and really don't want to have to ask my daughter to come take me - she has a 8 year old stepson. May have to though - my ramen noodle stash is getting low - I have COPD, no car and am over 60 so have 2 strikes against me starting out. :t-fear:

i put in a grocery order about the middle of last week. when i went to check out, it asked me for the store where to pick it up, and i tried three stores including home delivery, and with the exception of picking it up this morning at the store that i didn't want to (another story for another time), all the slots were filled up through the end of this week! :t-woo:

in the end, i picked up a little less than half of the groceries i ordered and had to go to another store to get the rest. it was kinda like a scavenger hunt, but without the toilet paper. (which we already have, and i knew i wasn't going to get that anyway XD ) in the end, i got pretty much everything that was on my list anyway.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a little nervous.
Spoiler
I went out last weekend (13th-15th) while recommendations were still for gatherings under 50 people, though I knew they would be tightening that. I also went out on Tuesday and welcomed a friend back to town who had been traveling.(We did not maintain a 6 ft distance!) Friday I woke up with a stuffy nose, not unusual for the season and the dog's been sneezing too, so I went on my planned grocery trip. Now, most symptom lists for Covid 19 discount nasal or sinus issues, focusing on cough, fever, and shortness of breath. I have (sporadically) checked my temp and not had a fever yet, but it still is a thought. I have reduced lung function anyway plus my anxiety, which is spiking, affects my breathing as well.

Bit of a venty rant here
Spoiler
Being poor sucks when a pandemic is on. Still 8 days left to go til the first (when I get more money) and I literally have $13 left to my name. Mentioned this to my bf's parents and his mom was all like "this is why you save your money so you don't get hit like this." Its all well and good for her! She gets more money a month than i do (retired school teacher with benefits AND social security and a husband with the same) AND has a lifetime of being middle class to build on. I'm poor, disabled, and live paycheck to paycheck. She can afford her bills AND to go out to eat whenever she wants and to buy pretty much whatever she wants. On the other hand HALF the money I get in the month is sucked away by bills. Then the remainder goes mainly towards household goods and paying HER SON to take me places (I may not always pay in gas but I do usually buy him something either food or an item he wants.) Its not fair to expect me to not go out for a meal or two or buy a new video game/book on occasion. Especially when normally I get by FINE. I shouldn't have to put the bulk of my extra money into savings on the off chance a freaking pandemic will hit necessitating me to stock up. Especially when at least $50 of it was me stocking up on stuff that HER SON will be using!

I mean I'll make it until the first. All bills are paid and I have enough food/toilet paper until then. The thing is...if I get a craving I won't be able to go to the store and fill it :( Or if I have a meal idea and am missing an ingredient I won't be able to run out and get it. (Well unless the bf decides he wants the meal too...then he'll ask them for money and get it.)

Just like...ugggh. I wish people who have always had money could put themselves in the shoes of people who haven't.
Anyways me and my bf and our kids and the bf's fam are healthy so far. No cases in our county yet. Last I checked there were 52 in our state. Worst bit besides the money is our governor's mandate to close all businesses that cannot follow the 6 foot social distancing rules were forced to close as of 8pm today. Soooooo the hair appointment I was hoping to make is put on hold for the foreseeable future XD

i get all of this, i do. my governor has issued a stay at home order for my county and a few others. but i have to go into my office. i HAVE to. it's too complicated to move the set-up home. it can't be done. there's a form to fill out to get a waiver to be open, which the owner has done, but i have NO idea when (I'm being optimistic) it'll even get approved. the small print says you can't even be open until it gets approved.

if we have to close, we have to close, but i'd like a way to tell our clients (management companies of section 8 housing complexes) the reports and investments and everything we do for them will be delayed. but that's not my call. that's up to my boss and the owner. so i have to go in tomorrow. the thing of it is - i won't even come into contact with anyone since i don't really have to. we're not open to the public and it's just me and my boss.

i get that this virus changes protocols all the time, but part of me is also frustrated that i can't work from home because we still use a database program from Office 2000, and our server is from WinXP, so we use outdated stuff. i have no idea if it's my boss (who hates technology), if the database really is that tangled behind the scenes.. even my "new" computer i got last year is Win7, which is no longer supported. and now's not exactly the time to go looking for a new job.

maybe if my boss wasn't so Type A, it wouldn't be so frustrating?

Cases in my state have soared to 234 [139 in my county and 17 in Pinal county (part of Phoenix metro)]. It jumped yesterday with 82 new cases, and some guy died from ingesting chloroquine phosphate because he read an online article that said it protects against the virus. His wife did the same thing, but she's expected to survive. A sad loss, but nonetheless a very dumb and very much avoidable idea. :srsly:

Anyway, I was planning on going shopping again at the end of the month, but I might postpone just to be on the safe side. I don't need to risk myself or my mom... I'm also wondering about my upcoming dentist appointment this week. I haven't received a confirmation message or call, so I'll probably have to call to check and see if they're even open.
Please help my babies grow C:

Just a little rant cause I have no one else to vent to. :derr:
Spoiler
Well today has just been a weird day. A couple days ago, someone in our neighborhood ran into a telephone pole, and boy did that mess up the area. Our internet has been going in and out since Saturday, and we have not had water since this morning cause a large pipe under the pole busted. My poor husband couldn't take a shower after work, which sucks cause he works outside all day, and we had to use our drinking water so he could at least wash his hands. But at least we have power, so I should be grateful. Kind of nervous about finances, hubby still has his job but I am out of luck; as a musician and dog sitter I rely on people travelling or holding events and church services, neither of which is happening now. Luckily we have plenty of food, as long as I can be creative with it and make it last.
We've got 4 confirmed cases in our town as of today, so it's finally reached us. We'll see what happens!
Will continue praying for everyone here. <3 Stay safe

if you mention people here specifically, please excuse us from your prayers (as in don't include us please). we have a traumatic history with religious and spiritual abuse specific to your deity, and for our safety/mental health we wish to avoid any kind of attention or engagement. thankyou for the consideration, and we appreciate the sentiment. <3
