He was so perfect. But he was sick when I got him. Damn birds need to tell me they're sick when I can still do something to help them. He was perfectly fine, playing even, then he was just laying there in the bottom of the cage, looking at me for help. Had to lie to be able to get him to the vet, 3 HOURS AWAY, one way. They didn't know what was wrong with him. Gave him fluids and antibiotics. Gave me antibiotics to give to him twice per day. He died shortly after getting him home, around 9pm.

I'll try again, but I don't think anyone is going that way today (awake at 5:30 right now, so can't call anyone yet). Problem is that I need someone to be going today, because you're supposed to bring the bird in to get a refund/replacement.

He didn't/couldn't have come in contact with anything to make him sick. He had a brand new cage, that I cleaned before putting him in (minimal to no fragrance), the paper towel tube wasn't contaminated, I washed the little plastic lid, I fed him the same food they were feeding him at the store, I washed my hands before doing anything with him (mainly because I have chickens; but I've hardly had contact with them the last couple days: food, water, eggs), he was eating and drinking fine.

But having raised chickens from birth, I understand sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can do for them. He was sick from the start and they don't show it until it's too late.

But he was perfect... He wasn't here more than a day before he was craving my company and attention...

Ugh. My sleep schedule is so fucked up. I've been helping my aunt and cousin out at school, so I've had to get up early the past few days. I wasn't able to sleep in yesterday and we ended up staying out until probably 1:30am, so I think I finally went to bed around 2. Of course I ended up waking up at 7:30.

I found them in my hidden tab full of old events. I guess the order of creatures in it must have gotten scrambled up because the first two times I checked it, the first akrai I found were the pale arkai. I found them after I put the tab back into default sort.
