I'm unfortunately use to having to deal with earwigs in the summer, but why why why am I now getting darkling beetle larvae (aka mealworms) too??? The earwigs, at least, are throughout the whole house, but these little fuckers are solely in my room

I have duct tape covering the gaps and cracks I noticed or speculated they were crawling out from, but it's hardly been a foolproof method. The tape doesn't stick super well in some spots and they're able to wiggle their way through those gaps. I have another plan in mind, but I've been waiting for it to be cooler before actually attempting it. Here's hoping it'll work

In the meantime, I've stopped killing them and started collecting them in a mason jar. If they're gonna be a problem, might as well turn it into a positive (however small a positive it is) and use them as chicken treats lol

Whelp. Seeing if I can get a vet time tomorrow (acute vet ) on a Saturday is fun, but can't be helped.

My cat has been having issues with constipation this week (started Thursday morning, frequent bathroom visits, and very little poop). Changed her dry food to wet food, grabbed fresh cat grass from the store, and put out more waterbowls around the house so she drinks more. Now she is showing 2 other problematic symptoms (starting today: minor diarrhea and peeing less than she did yesterday, yowling from litterbox,). The less pee amount is what worries me the most... :/

This cat never yowls from litterbox. She is a very quiet 15-year old cat... but she doesn't visit the bathroom as often as before (she could go to the litterbox as often as 3-5min apart, but very little poop came out, and the pee amount has been reduced today by a lot :/).
Due to her age,I rather not take any risks. Her yearly check-up was planned for November, but I guess we will have to go and visit the vet quickly tomorrow. Will call them in advance and double-check just in case,but from the question-and-answers page, it seems my cat will be taken in due to the symptoms she is showing.

So,vet person...take out your gloves because this cat has razor-sharp claws

There we go.After 3h+ waiting at the clinic, my cat got a shot (helped her a lot already! she seems a lot more happy and dosen't run every5 min to bathroom,she is almost back to normal self), and got some meds prescribed for the inflammation (will have to take the meds for the next 10 days). I told the vet to take thick gloves because she can be unpredictable (can scratch or bite, gets nervous around strangers).

and the cat stabbed me in the back.

She was an angel through her entire stay. Including when she got the shot and was scanned (with involved some tests being done with a needle).

The vet wondered if the owner was just joking about the biting and scratching, and I wondered if I had the wrong cat with me Not a single displeased mew or a tiny hiss.

But she bit me when I let her out from the transport box when we got back home,and scratched me up when I had to put her in there.

My day has been okay, minus a headache. I'm waiting to go to college and see my family, and not learning makes my head very sore as it did today. I wish there was some sort of education I could do in the meantime But the good news is the isopods had tiny babies and now they are growing! They are minute and adorable!

For on site news, my capricorns finally bred! Phew. That took a while but it was worth it

Managed to get two appointments for my son and hubby for U.S visa. Now I'm struggling to get appointments for German visa. No appointments according to VFS. This is such a pain

Hi all, I've missed playing and catching new things here for a little bit.

So funny story, got a Hurricane with my hubby's name on it, coming to hit us in less than 24 hrs here in Florida.

Nothing makes you feel more alive than a hurricane knocking on your door soon.

But for real....yeah I'm kinda trying not to think about it too much...we're in an area that I am hoping will stay safe and we are already prepared as best we can.

Hopefully, I'll be back soon.
