Stars and seas.

Post by Sleepydeepy »

When the day is all but gone most wonder off, retreating to the land of dreams, wondering the vast plains which is their imagination.
But there are those who do not. Those few who know of the true beauty the night brings. Basking in its wonders and enjoying the company of madam moon.
The moon was in her third quarter, a noir gown drape around her form, slipping as she gazes from the heavens, witnessing an exchange between temporary lovers.

One the earth two Kukuris made their way down a vast shoreline, tracing footprints within the sand, enjoying the company the one another brought. Moving in a comfortable silence, broken only by the sound of waves crashing against the shoreline. Each wave coming closer with each venture upon land, soon crashing against the duo's paws with each passing.
The abnormal feeling of water against his talons cause the rook to stiffen at the touch, he did his best to hide his unnerve from his companion but the dove was more observant than the rook was aware.

“Are you alright?” the dove inquires, looking over to the rook with a curious gaze.

The rook jolts, returning the dove’s concern gaze with a weary one, responding to the Dove's kind inquire, “Of course, Nev- Arck!” The rook begins but quickly interrupts himself, squeaking loudly as a large wave washing against his knees.

Within a moment the rook flushes at the squawk that left him dispute his attempts to hide the peeps. Earning a quiet yet playful giggle from the luminous dove. Gently, Zaria knocks her side into the rook's, causing the poor kukuri to stumble into the incoming wave, squealing as he falls.
Letting out a happy snort, the dove smiles, spinning towards the fallen rook, “Afraid of a little water, Dino?” The dove hums, nipping at a price of seaweed that had washed upon Dino’s shoulder.

“No,” Dino huffs, though a soft purr rumbling at the back of his throat, smiling nervously as he stumbles to his feet, responding with a playful grin, “I'm just not used to the water that's all.”
He states, shuffling backwards with a wiggle of his tail, pouncing into the dove knocking them into the salty seas below.
The two began to wrestle within the shallow water. Splashing and giggling as one tried to. Best the other.

The battle was soon over. Zaria pinning the rook with a proud smile, puffing out her chest whilst leaning down, giving the rook a cocky grin, “ I won~” Zaria chirps, leaning to the side, splashing down into the water beside the poor rook. Laughing heartily as Dino humfs, poorly muffling a the giggles that threatened to leave the rook’s beak, “ Only because I let you.”

“Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that,” Zaria hums, flicking the sand with her tail as she sends herself into the water, splashing Dino in the process, earning a small growl from the other kukuri.

Chuckling once again, Zaria pokes her tongue out as she slowly swims further into the sew. , diving underneath the water until only the distant glow of her luminous could be seen.
Begrudgingly, Dino slowly began to follow the dove further into the ocean, his breath quickening once his feet stop touching the sandy floor, floating in the water with a couple of kicks of his paws.
He felt heavy, his wet fur taking a toll on him, quickly his mind began to race, filling up with thoughts of peril that the sea hiss beneath her depths. His breath quickening to a concerning degree.

“The stars are beautiful aren’t they? ”A voice cuts through the haze of the rook's thoughts, pulling him from the abyss to stare at Zaria once again, this time staring up into the sky above.
Dino’s eye widen at the sight, before him was nothing but also everything, millions and millions of lights shone above him with a peace that no mortal will ever know.

Glowing in a way akin to the lovers watching them with wonder in their eyes.
