Do you have a tattoo/piercing?:
Yes. Nine tattoos and four peircings (two in each ear)
If not, Are you against them in any way?
I have them and nope, not against it.
Do you think that people who have them should immediately be looked down upon because of it?
Not at all. I have been raised to always be open and accepting of people and their lifestyle choices. That being said, body modifcations are becoming an increasingly normal occurrance. Short of extreme modifications such as very visual facial and neck tattoos, over abundance of peircings or dermal implants - most people won't even give you a second look now adays.
Why do you think people should/should not have them?
I don't think people should or should not have them. Modifying your body is a personal choice and should be well thought out before doing so. I have always heard the argument in my youth that "Your body is a temple, do not alter it" however, all temples are decorated with paintings and tapestries, artwork and stainglass windows. Why not decorate your temple? Nothing wrong with any if it in my opinion. As long as you are not harming yourself in the process, I see no problem with it.
In the work force, should a tattoo or a piercing be the deciding factor in whether or not they get a job?
Not in the slightest. I've never been turned down for a job for any of my tattoos or peircings. Unfortunately it does happen still but it really should not matter. Unless you are working with like magnetic MRI machines daily and the metal of your peircings causes a physical risk to your personal health, hwy would it matter?

Do you have a tattoo/piercing?:
Nope, but I have considered getting a tattoo of a dragon or something significant to me for aaaages. I'm just horrendously indecisive.
If not, Are you against them in any way?
Nope! As for tattoos, they're like living art on a unique, personal canvas, and as for piercings, it's not my business what someone does with their body. I'm just too much of a wimp for piercings.
Do you think that people who have them should immediately be looked down upon because of it?
Of course not. Unless a tattoo is something obscene or grossly offensive, I don't get why people get looked down upon for having body modifications in general.
Why do you think people should/should not have them?
Life is short, have fun with it.
In the work force, should a tattoo or a piercing be the deciding factor in whether or not they get a job?
Not whether or not they get a job period, no. But as for dress code, I guess if that's a policy, you gotta follow it lol.

Re: Tattoos and Piercings
I'm probably an unreliable piece if data for this debate, seeing as I am VERY biased and want to be a tattoo artist one day.
Do you have a tattoo/piercing?:
Standard 1 ear piercing in each ear and 3 tattoos, with plans to cover my whole body lol
If not, Are you against them in any way?
The only tattoos I'm against are hate tattoos of any sort, including derogatory names and symbols.
Do you think that people who have them should immediately be looked down upon because of it?
Heck no! Judge people based off their personality and actions, not what is on top of their skin - albeit ink, clothes, or makeup.
Why do you think people should/should not have them?
I think everyone should explore the opportunity to get anything that expresses who they are as long as it isn't hurting anyone else
In the work force, should a tattoo or a piercing be the deciding factor in whether or not they get a job?
Deciding factor? Absolutely not. Of course, things should be within reason. If you're front desk personal, it's understandable that you probably shouldn't have face tats.

Re: Tattoos and Piercings
Do you have a tattoo/piercing?: I have a couple piercings, but I'd love to get more. I always wanted a tat, but I'm a chicken when it comes to needles.
If not, Are you against them in any way? No, absolutely not. I mean, if you have an utterly tasteless piece of work, I'm going to judge you on that decision, but it's your body, your choice.

Why do you think people should/should not have them? Totally a personal choice, and generally not my business, like most body mods.
In the work force, should a tattoo or a piercing be the deciding factor in whether or not they get a job? It really, really depends. If you want to work with children and you have a highly visible tat with genitals or racial slurs prominent or something, maybe you should have thought about why and where you wanted that tat. But having a job taken away from you on the simple basis of having a tattoo or piercing is so yesterday.

Re: Tattoos and Piercings
Do you have a tattoo/piercing?: Yes, I have a sleeve and four other tattoos, along with 14 piercings.
If not, Are you against them in any way? Nope!
Do you think that people who have them should immediately be looked down upon because of it? Absolutely not ever.
Why do you think people should/should not have them? I don't think anyone should or shouldn't have them, it's all about expression. It's really a matter of what it would do for them. A lot of the time, piercings give people confidence they lacked before.
In the work force, should a tattoo or a piercing be the deciding factor in whether or not they get a job? I don't think so at all and this particular topic makes me so mad. Think about it, do you realize how expensive tattoos and piercings are? So why is it looked down at like we're low lives or we have no work ethic? It takes a lot of work and responsibility to take care of piercings and tattoos, and they are all investments. I've been lucky enough to work for the state and the government with my body mods and half of my head shaved, but I know many many other people are not that lucky and will not be. It's a ridiculous mindset to have and I really hope society grows out of it.
