Not sure if anyone is interested...but there is a game called Wolfquest and recently a remake version was released for the anniversary. It is cool! But my old computer can just barely load it. But you can catch elk, moose, and mule deer. Plus you can tussel with rival wolves and just...it's fun.
The Wishlist in my profile is outdated (I can't quite figure out how to edit it now, so many of the creatures there have already been obtained).

I live a bit into the woods beyond a military base, so the wildlife is... sparse, to say the least, due to the sheer volume of aircraft that come and go at all hours. That doesn't stop the bears from terrorizing my garbage, however. I cracked open the garage to put the can out this morning and just about tinkled myself when I saw the tubby (relatively) little black bear attacking my neighbor's recycling bin. Needless to say, my garage door hit the pavement and I'll likely need to just run my rubbish to the center myself since the bin's full, but it was an interesting way to start my morning.

My parents have waterfront property on the other end of the state road we live on, and sometimes I can catch glimpses of the pair of golden eagles or one of the ospreys they've got nesting in their yard. They've got a rather large gathering of cardinals that like to bully the squirrels and tempt my brother's tegu when she gets to go on walks. I just really adore their yard. You never know who you'll get to see while you're there. <3

Wow, that is neat that you can see bears so often around where you live. But on the other hand, it can be scary too because you never know how bold one may end up being. We don't have bears where I live unless they just happen to live way out in the middle of nowhere.

For a little project of mine, I have been reading up on the European hare. Alice in Wonderland- related you know with the March Hare. I got so happy when I saw there is actually an albino variety...what a lucky little bugger he/ she was and proof that I can have my cake and eat it.

One spring break, my family and I went to Puget Sound (this was when we lived in eastern Washington). Naturally, we went whale watching. While it wasn't peak season for orca viewing, we did see two or three gray whales pop up around the boat. We also saw seals, porpoises, and most amazing to me, no less than seventeen bald eagles. It meant that conservation efforts weren't just working for the species, but working splendidly.

Another family vacation was spent in Vail, Colorado in the summer (we are not skiers). One day at the hotel, we looked out the door of the hotel only to see a bear going through trash across the street. And none of us had any sort of camera to capture the moment. We still kick ourselves over that, even though it was over ten years ago.

I've recently ended up moving into my mother's house (the one with all the birds that the tegu likes to chase), and I've noticed a particularly brave robin in the yard recently. He likes to steal dog food from the screened-in back porch using a small hole that I think a rat chewed through one of the corners. We startled the grace right out of each other this morning when I took my coffee out there to drink while I called my husband. Poor thing took three tries to get back through that little hole but he took his prize with him!

Not sure the albino ones are lucky - far more likely to be seen and therefore eaten! When I first had the horse and was riding out I used to see hares regularly, which was always special. That was 8 years ago. Now I rarely see them, they've really declined over the last 3 years - I don't know whether that's just because they are more wary, or because there really are fewer.

I sometimes used to see them on the way to work too in a particular field on the edge of town. Sadly that field is now being built on and I've seen several hares dead on the road. The logo for the housing development has a hare on it - I seriously want to go and graffiti that in protest.

There's nothing quite like waking up after a trip to the bar with Mum... to sit up and come face to face with a Great Horned Owl the size of a child sitting on the roof outside your window, enjoying a early morning snack. I just about pissed myself, while he just blinked and went about his business. He even let me prop up against my windowsill with a book and 'sit' with him while he ate. Pretty cool encounter to start the day!

He's a regular in our yard so I see him a lot, but I never really appreciated his size until just now. He really could run off with my small dog if he wanted to.

I used to live in a bigger city that had very little wildlife. We had standard little birds and standard little squirrels. Occasionally there was the waft of a dead skunk, but I honestly never saw one despite having lived there for years and years.

I moved into a slightly more rural area that had been known for its farms. Now we see bunnies every spring, and cardinals/bluejays. If we drive a little further out to where the older farms are, we can see horses, goats, and sometimes cows. There are many, many fat squirrels, and I started seeing deer for the first time in my life, which tickles me to no end because they're my favorite animal. We also see hawks and turkey vultures. Along with all the nice animals, we've been getting a surprising amount of creepy crawlies as well. I've seen stink bugs and aggressive (bees?), and my god, I've seen thousand leggers and they make me squeamish. And so many freaking spiders.

I much prefer living in this animal populated city. It's much more pleasant.

I heard the first woodpecker of the year yesterday, and the ducks are back on the seasonal pond... signs of spring even though its still only January. Winter has been very wet and mild here.

I am a wildlife soon to be graduate and I enjoy nothing more then being able to walk outside and hear a bird and go "Oh theres a Carolina Chickadee." although winter has been very mild for me too. We never had a day under freezing, at least while I was in town. Which is a first.
