Roan happily accepted the baby in his arm, holding him close and pressing kissing all over his face. "I missed you so much!" Before he knew it, he felt a gentle tug on the canula in his nose, looking down and seeing Kai pulling on the foreign object. "No, baby. You can't do that," he said softly, pulling Kai's hands away from the tubes. "Mama needs that to breathe." He soon turned his attention to Rafe who happened to be sitting next to him, holding an arm out to him for a hug.

Hikaru watched Roan and his little family with a smile. "I'm always going to worry about you," he admitted with a small sigh, leaning his head against Alex. It was the honest truth. "I just hope that nothing else happens to any of us." He was really hoping that Roan wouldn't need surgery again.

Rafe smiled when he saw Roan and Kai be reunited and then chuckled a bit when he watched the latter pull on the former’s cannula for his nose. When he saw Roan offer an arm to him so that he could hug him, he leaned in slightly and gave him a hug. “I’m glad you’re happy again,” he whispered to him before kissing him softly on the cheek. “You and Kai together are very cute.”

“You don’t have to and if I ever do something to make you worry about me I don’t mean to,” Alex said in reply to what Hikaru said before hearing the rest of what he said. “Me too,” he said before kissing him softly on the side of the head after he leaned into his arm.

Kai ended up reaching a hand towards Rafe as he rested his head against Roan's chest. "Now if only I can leave this hospital," Roan whispered to Rafe, smiling as he relaxed with his reunited family. It would be absolutely amazing if he could leave the hospital, but he knew that may not happen anytime soon. "Did they ever mention if I was supposed to have surgery again?"

Hikaru looked up at Alex with gentle, baby blue eyes. "I'm thinking about seeing if I can't find a vending machine," he admitted shyly. His cravings were getting to him, and right now, he was craving some junk food or at least some chocolaty stuff. "Do you want to come with me?"

Rafe held Kai’s hand in his own with a smile before kissing both him and Roan on the forehead both gently and softly. “That might still be a little while babe and I don’t think they did. I don’t remember them mentioning one,” he said in reply to both the latter’s statement and question before rubbing Kai’s hand.

“I’ll go and get something for you so you don’t have to get up. I’ll get you a packet of M&Ms,” Alex said in reply to what Hikaru said and asked before getting up and kissing him softly on the forehead and then heading back into the hallway where he had seen a vending machine earlier when they had been in their way to Roan’s room. When he got to it, he put a $1 in, pressed the buttons for the letter and number for the candy, got 25 cents back as change, retrieved the candy from the drop area, and then went back to the room to give Hikaru the chocolate he asked for.

Kai let out a happily gurgle when Rafe held and rubbed his hand, looking up at him with eyes that looked just like Rafe's blue ones. Roan nodded, letting out a sigh. "I thought I heard them mention something, but I guess I'll just have to ask them later."

Hikaru was about to tell Alex that they could just go the candy later since Alex didn't want him to get up, but Alex was soon gone. "Thank you," he said as he took the M&M's, ripping open the package before eating one. He then grabbed one and held it out to Alex. "You know, I was thinking about picking out some baby things in a few days if you'd like to come with me." It would just be stuff that they would need to stock up on like diapers and formula, especially since they were having twins. Twins meant twice as many everything.

“Oh maybe I misheard them and that would be a good idea so we both know something,” Rafe said in reply before looking back over at my Kai and smiling when he heard the cute little gurgle he let out. “I love his eyes. Hm they remind me of someone...,” he said as he ran his hand over his head. He knew of course who he reminded him of but he was trying to tease him (Roan) and try to make him feel better.

“You’re welcome,” Alex said in reply before nodding in thanks when he was given one in return. “Of course I would,” he said in reply to what Hikaru said about him joining him for a shopping trip for the twins.

"They do?" Roan asked with a small chuckle, watching as Kai leaned his head into his father's touch. "Are you talking about yourself? He has your blue eyes after all." Roan knew that Kai looked very similar to him with his pale skin and dark, black hair, but those eyes were just like Rafe's. There was no difference in color value whatsoever. "Rafe, what if Kai ends up having the same health conditions I do l?" It sometimes really worried him.

"Maybe we could have a date night, too?" Hikaru asked. It may be the last time they could have one in a long time, so he wanted to cherish it while it lasted. "It's up to you, of course. We can always do one later."

Rafe chuckled a bit when he heard the question and statement that Roan asked and said before saying in reply while smiling when he saw Kai lean into his hand, “Yes and I know. I was just saying that to get you to feel better.” Then he sighed when he heard the last question that was asked. “We’ll cross that bridge if it ever does happen,” he said in reply before kissing the former softly and gently on the cheek and then pulling away afterward.

“Sure. Dinner out and then a relaxing movie night at home?” Alex said and asked in reply to Hikaru’s question regarding a date night after they go baby shopping. He couldn’t wait until that happened because it made him excited to be doing that before the twins would be born. “Maybe we can do those things in a day or two?”

Roan nodded, letting out a soft sigh. "When he's older, we should get him tested just in case." Even though the heart problem could show up later in Kai, it was better to make sure he did have it early on, right? Roan smiled when he saw Kai yawn before closing his eyes. "Mommy doesn't want anything to happen to you. You're my sweet little baby." With that he turned his attention back to Rafe. "So are you two going to spend the night here?"

"Yeah, that sounds nice," Hikaru told Alex with a smile. He wanted them to have a date night every now and then before the babies were born because after that, they would never have a second alone for a few years or at least until the twins were in school. "Hey, do you think that I can shift while pregnant?" He wasn't sure if it would be safe, but he couldn't help but be a bit curious.

“That’s a good idea,” Rafe said in reply before also looking down at the now sleeping Kai and smiling shortly afterward. He heard what Roan said to their baby and smiled a bit more before hearing he question and looking back at Roan as well. “Yes so that you won’t be alone,” he said in reply before laying down on the other side of Kai.

“Okay and that might not be a good idea. I think you should wait to do that until after the twins are born just in case,” Alex said in reply to both Hikaru’s statement and question before giving him a half hug while they were still sitting in the chairs in Roan’s room.
