It's been iffy for me on an off since I started, and I generally have a strong signal. It's also crashing on me a lot when I catch things or hit a pokestop, but closing and reopening it helps. I'm hoping that it will get more consistent when the server load evens out. But just about an hour ago, it wasn't letting me log in at all, and now I'm back on again.

So what are PokeStops? Places to heal your Pokemon and buy stuff or what?

Yeah, I'm getting a server down message right now too.

Pokestops are where you can get random items (potions, revives, pokeballs) and sometimes eggs. Just like portals in Ingress, they are attached to "monuments" or significant places around you. The only healing right now is from using items, unfortunately.

And, ugh, I live outside city limits so I probably won't have access to PokeStops...ever. I can't just go into town to go to one. No income and no gas money and all. And I definitely can't walk. Freaking heat index of 110 F right now and it's like 5 miles (give or take a mile) to town.

Ingress is the company's other AR game, nothing important.

You might be surprised by what they place stops on. In the suburbs there definitely are less, but I know my neighborhood clubhouse back home is one. There are a bunch on street graffiti here, churches, etc. And it's possible that they will eventually implement a suggestions system to recommend new stops, as I know they used to do that for their other game. Otherwise, maybe you can hang around the ones you find a little when you run errands or something--you can interact with them about every 5 minutes, and I get 3-4 items every time, mostly pokeballs.

Hopefully I can find one nearby. There's an RV park next door, literally, lol. But I don't think they'd appreciate me sneaking over there... We have enough problems with people walking through the yard to them with it being posted as private property.

Hi guys/gals!!!

Yes, the server is down. This is most likely do the the hundred of thousands if not millions of people who are logging in and out of Poke-Go. It might be down for awhile is what I'm guessing. Just so they can fix and update the server to handle the massive load of information that is being run through the system. It is also extremely new (it was released yesterday on the 6th, remember), so there are bound to be a few if not quite a few bugs in the system that they need to fix. It's currently down for me too, which is honestly quite annoying cause I was about to go for a walk.

I think the one thing that irritates me the most is how much it just sucks the life of your phone away. I've been on and off the Poke-Go app all day and I'm already down to 38%. I've never had an app that drains the battery so fast before and I've had a lot of apps that run like this.

What team did we all choose? If you've even gotten to that point yet? I chose Team Mystic.
There are surprisingly a lot of PokeStops where I live. I live in a small town, but the amount of PokeStops here is kinda ridiculous. Haha. Haven't visited any of them yet though. I was going to do so later tonight! But...we'll see how long Poke-Go stays down though. Hopefully not to long.

New pokémon revealed earlier today, Salandit, a poison/fire type that can also poison both steel and poison types thanks to its ability, Corrosion.
